★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This mosque is part of the heritage list of over 1000 mosques built by Nawabs during their reign in Murshidabad.
Late Syed Meharban Hussain was given the responsibility by Nawab of the time to look after this mosque.
He took care of the mosque quite gracefully until he died.
Post his demise this Mosque is not in a good shape and needed funds for repair and maintenance.
His immediate family members including daughters and grandsons have taken over and initiated fund raisers to manage the occasional wear and tear.
There is an annual Majlis being organised by one his daughter and son-in-law and extended family.
Late Syed Meharban Hussain was a prominent personality in Murshidabad and was known for his generosity and graceful character.
He had exceptional qualities. His reach of prominence is not restricted to town but outside the town in cities like Kolkata he was welcomed warm heartedly.
