About Mindward Centre for Psychological Wellbeing & Research

Mindward™ Centre for Psychological Wellbeing and Research

Mindward is a centre for facilitating care and understanding for mental health needs and concerns of all individuals. It was co-founded by clinical psychologists Ms. Mahika Sharma and Ms. Madhuri Jain, both alumni of the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Delhi University. It is grounded in their shared vision to meet the mental health and personal growth needs of individuals, families and organizations through ethically driven, cost efficient and empirically informed assessment and intervention (including therapy, workshops and group discourses) services provided by a team of trained, experienced and registered mental health professionals.

Our Vision

Normalizing mental health concerns, providing readily available help and catering to the psychological health needs of all individuals (children, adolescents, adults) and family members through our ethically driven and cost effective approaches.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to create a platform to ensure that equal significance is given to concerns of emotional, behavioural, psychological or psychiatric difficulties as one gives to physical health concerns. Our constant effort is to generate public awareness, study patterns of help-seeking and available sources of professional help and consistently increase our outreach capacity.

While ensuring a harmonious and taboo-free platform, our interventions are implemented only after thorough planning and subject to constant review. Our team comprises of trained and qualified professionals in the field of human psychology and the emotional, behavioural and lifestyle related difficulties faced by most individuals. While taking advantage of our training and theoretical knowledge we endeavor to use evidence-based approaches in psychotherapy and group therapy interventions.

Similarly, as and when need be, we may make use of psychological testing to ensure objectivity as well as to monitor progress. Since all forms of interventions are planned based on the specific needs of the individuals we keep in mind not only specific techniques such as Cognitive, Behavioural, Psychodynamic but also ensure a humanistic approach at all times.

Underlying all our activities are our core values of genuineness, non judgmental stance and an unconditional positive regard towards our client.

Our Values

  • Do No Harm!

All our goals and activities are oriented towards benefitting those with whom we work and taking care to do no harm. We also strive to be aware of the possible effect of our own physical and mental health on our ability to help those with whom we work. We believe in ensuring our wellbeing as well before catering to the wellbeing needs of all others.

  • Remain Trustworthy!

Our constant endeavor is to establish relationships of trust with those with whom we work. We are aware of our professional and scientific responsibilities to society and to the specific communities in which we work. We consistently monitor ourselves to uphold professional standards of conduct, clarify our professional roles and obligations, accept appropriate responsibility for our behavior, and seek to manage conflicts of interest that could lead to exploitation or harm. From time to time we may even consult with, refer to, or coordinate with other professionals and institutions to the extent needed to serve the best interests of our clients.

  • Ensure Integrity!

We seek to promote accuracy, honesty, and truthfulness in the science, teaching, and practice of our work. We strive to avoid making any false commitments or misrepresentation of information and attempt to keep our promises.

  • Justice for All!

Fairness and justice entitle all persons to access to and benefit from the contributions of our work and to equal quality in the processes, procedures, and services being conducted by us. We exercise reasonable judgment and take precautions to ensure that our potential biases, the boundaries of our competence, and the limitations of our expertise do not lead to or condone unjust practices.

  • Respect for Every Person’s Rights and Dignities!

We respect the dignity and worth of all people, and the rights – of everyone we work with – to privacy, confidentiality, and self-determination. We ensure to keep in mind individual differences including those based on age, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, language, and socioeconomic status, and consider these factors when working with our clients.
