★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have dealt with this consultant for almost 3 years, for 2 of my companies, and I can only advise anyone to be extremely careful before assigning them as a consultant. Here's a summary of my experience:
1. The company started off with a good professional conduct and nice communication, only until some time though our relationship, where the level of support and communication deteriorated severely.
2. I came to realize after all this time that they have NOT prepared any of our secretarial documents.
(Minutes of the meeting, Notice and agenda of the meeting, Attendance Record, Statutory Registers, Directors' Interest disclosure and declaration forms as per the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013.). I still don't have these documents and have been requesting them for the past 3 months.
3. During our agreement, they indulged us into dealing with a separate (supposedly more senior) consultant, only because they didn't know how to deal with certain compliance situations, and it costed us an additional amount of 1 lac to draft a new agreement through the other consultant. Later, we realized that this whole agreement was not needed even!
4. Now we know that we've been running lots of fines related to late filings of many documents. Some fines cost tens of thousands INR, and the consultant didn't bother to even communicate with us those late filings. They simply add the the late filing fee into the bill you have to pay, and couldn't care less!!
5. We also dealt through them with an accounting service. Now we realized that the way they're reporting the accounting in a very tweaked manner, that could raise all kinds of "??" with the ministry, and could result in serious fines that might force us to shut down. For one of the companies, I'm yet to receive the Tally date of the previous financial year, which I've been requesting for over 3 months. I still don't have it. It's very possible that they didn't work on it.
6. Some issues related to ownership (major ones) are still pending. I'm not sure what they've been doing the full 2-3 years, and they never communicate the status with me.
7. Their process is full of communication gaps. If you deal with them, expect un-answered emails all the time. You only know about certain issues when they reflect in the bill in the form of late filing and the like.
In summary, this consultant has been extremely unprofessional, non-communicative, non-cooperative, and put both my companies in so much trouble that I'm trying to fix right now. You can find more professional and supportive consultants with a fraction of the price, and they will serve your company compliance needs much better.
