My husband and I came here on a whim looking for a Salwar Kameez for myself. We entered and immediately brought me over to where I could see some different selections. They were reasonably priced (400Rp) for one top that they would tailor to you if you needed some more shape for free. I didn't like the options and they suggested I look at the fabrics against the other wall and they could make me a custom top. I liked the options I saw and chose one I liked. They wanted me to pay around 1800 Rp for it but I didn't want to pay that much. We haggled for awhile but were not satisfied with the price so my husband and I left. A few minutes later we were chased down on the street and they gave me a much better deal than they originally said so we went back and ordered a custom made tailored top. They said they would deliver to our hotel that night!!! So fast! They asked that we walk around the whole store to bring it luck as we were the first customers. They said we wouldn't be hassled to buy anything. SO we walked around, but yes were a little pressured to buy from other sections in the store, but we said no multiple times and that said we needed to leave because we had to check out of our hotel.. we were finally free. I asked my hotel to contact me when my shirt arrived. It was now 11pm and it was still "not there." So we went back to the store the next day to ask about my top and they said they delivered it the night before. They called my hotel immediately for me and spoke with them and cleared up the whole misunderstanding. They were very professional in solving this for me quickly. I wanted the shirt altered a bit more after trying it on and they did so without a fuss. It looks perfect!!! I ended up going back and having a second one made before we left Delhi and it fit perfectly as well. We also bought some tea from the shop upstairs. (A bit more expensive than we expected but it was a MASSIVE box almost 200 cups). I would recommend this place as a spot to have custom tailored salwar kameez. It was reasonable for what you would pay for someone to make you an outfit ONLY for your body :) Thanks Mantra!

This place is a tourist scam. Stay away!! It has an extreme mark-up on the prices of ALL the goods, offers secret and illegal commissions to any drives that take you there and the quality of the product is horrendous. When you shop, the customer service seems fantastic...but once you are about to check out, they change the prices on you. First they quote a totally different number, then tell you it's in a different currency. (They attempted to sell me a cotton shirt for $90 USD. Really?) Once I removed almost all of my items from my pile, made the purchase... the pants started to fall apart on me on the first day I wore them. (Then I also found out a few days later I could have purchase the SAME pair of pants for literally an 1/16th of the price. No joke. I was gullible. ) *I visited on 2/23/17

Don't trust being recommended this store, as everyone else wrote, you'll probably end up buying something random. Which is probably way too expensive. Although I came out fine and only bought some spices, it felt like it was hard to leave the store once brought inside unless you bought something. In my case I met a random dude on the street whom first recommended me a restaurant to gain my trust, which worked. I only spent 740 rupies but I had to walk back to the hotel as the driver "was out of gas" and wanted me to visit the next store. Very hardsell and felt unsafe to say the least.

DO NOT BE CONNED, not the cheapest and you think you are getting a good deal because you feel clever by bartering the price down but you will get stung with import tax as we have just discovered. This was our 2nd day in Delhi and our "tour guide" took us here, obviously they get a big commission. we found that the cheaper deals where to be had in Jaipur but again do not listen to your tour guide. ask locals or your private tour driver. we saw bigger and higher quality rugs in Jaipur

I would have given no stars if i could. This place was recommended by a driver at The beginning of our trip. The staff were nice and helpful. They are not pushy at first but try to overwhelm you with items and you feel compelled to buy because they spent all this time with you. I had told one I have no money and was told as a foreigner I had lot of money and plastic money. Another worker told my friend they needed the sale to feed their children. I would recommend not buying from them. If you see something you like get their card, shop around and come back. You will find it cheaper everywhere else.

I just came back from this place. I did my research in advance and tried to stay away from tourist traps as much as possible. Unfortunately, without mobile data available it was hard to know all places, like this one. Like many other tourists I was brought here at the end of a, truthfully, decent day for an alright price (65 EUR) given they drove me around everywhere. However, I got convinced by the carpet seller who amazingly spoke French AND knew some of the cities around Brussels which at least showed they put thought into it. I was able to examine the rug up close and there was no plastic to it and the back looked correct as well. As such, I believe while 200 EUR is too much for this (probably machine made) rug, if it holds for a bit it should be an OK price. Be warned though, they will smooth talk you. Don't be afraid to do the same and if they say they know how it goes, then just say the same back. They don't care. There are over 25 million in Delhi. You can haggle with them and they will lower the price, don't be afraid to half the price.

BUYERS BEWARE! We were taken to Mantra / Nirula Handicrafts Bazaar by our driver and tour guide while visiting Delhi (which I later learned was a way to lure tourist in and a way for the Tour Company/Tour Guide to earn commission from sellers!). I bought a couple of handcrafted marble statues, which according to the sales person included cost of packing/shipping as well as insurance to cover any damage to the goods purchased. The sales person assured me time and again that they ship regularly and have had no issues with breakages. Also in the event something did happen to my purchased items, it would be easy to claim back from the insurance company. (which turns out to be total BS...these people will do and say anything to grab the sale from tourists visiting their store!!!) The items were delivered by DHL Express on 28th Dec16. One of the statues (Shiva with family) was damaged. Nirula (or as they also call themselves, "Mantra" ) did not bother to respond to my e-mail promptly (it took them almost 2 weeks to reply!!!). When they did decided to FINALLY respond they asked me to a) contact DHL and file a claim, b) contact their Insurance representative in the US, however for that they advised that I need a copy of the original Insurance Certificate which they would be mailing to me (this was on 10th Jan and I still have not received this document!) . Long story short, here we are on 23rd Jan and Nirula has not sent the Insurance Certificate required to put in a claim for the damaged statue, so therefore I cannot proceed with the claim with their insurance representative!. . Additionally DHL is now stating that they need the Seller/Shipper to sign a release form without which they cannot process my claim.(which is a total and utter joke since it took Mantra / Nirula 2 weeks to reply to my initial e-mail and they still have not sent me the documentation that their insurance representative requires to settle the claim, so how the heck am I supposed to get them to sign a release form??!!!). So bottom line people - this is a VERY unreliable/ untrustworthy/overpriced seller.....so do not bother spending your hard earned money in their store...unless you want to throw away your money!!!

The quality isn't necessarily bad, but they're liars and scammers. I got a nice peacock carpet for less than 5000rp after some bargaining, ok, nice catch, also bought a small elephant and a drawing that were basically pushed to me after their sellers danced around me nonstop and pushed me to into their sections and after many smooth talkings. I forgot all of this purchase in a tuk tuk afterwards, but anyways, only then, when I walked in main bazar (which I liked much more) the scam dawned upon me. That morning, when we walked near our hotel, a nice well-suited guy started to chat with us near Le meriden and Shangri-La hotels, said something about a protest (there was none!) in Connaught place (where we told him we're going) so we better go to that market, and he even talked to the nice Reakshaw driver that just got to be there and offered us this 20rp drive. He parked in front of this wooden door, we got in, and then - you're trapped. 10 people all looking at you, smiling, leading you to buy anything possible.
