Food is very homely and chai ..... OMG..... there is one chef who makes amazing chai.... I can go to this place again just for that chai.....Sorry i dint collect his name....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This property of OTDC has been leased out and the new name is Taptapani Spring Resort. Tariff of rooms has been increased than that was under OTDC. Located near Taptapani Hot Spring. The property is huge having parking space, landscaped garden, well maintained buildings and log houses. Dining place is nice, food quality is decent but price is little bit high. Recommended for one day stay in the lap of nature and out of mobile network coverage.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all I would like to point out the fact that there aren't many places to visit in Taptapani itself, there are places nearby which are worth visiting such as khasada waterfall and Jeerang monastery.
The property in itself is good with a great view and ambience but the service provided by the management was not the best. They charged total 10,000 Rs for 2 rooms and 8 people for just one night but the room didn't have some of the things that you would expect in a resort such as kettle, tea bag,etc. The lunch we had there was an absolute disappointment. Most of the items in the menu are not available. The taste was also not as you would expect in a holiday resort. On top of that, the resort is terribly understaffed. I literally saw one person serving, clearing the table, making the bill and getting the food from the kitchen to our tables. One of the reasons why this problem persists is because the property was owned by the government and because of its recent privatisation, they might be facing staff issues. Hopefully they'll serve better as they learn and increase their staff to accomodate the needs of their guests.
