After telling us and offering free Vodka to the lady we were charged everything and even though after asking the manager("which he claimed he was") there was no respite ...
Really unprofessional and unasked for ...going back at their word ...being really pathetic for all it takes ! ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Phoenix launches their new menu. A portion of the menu is a bring back, and a tribute to 1956 Kolkata food. Think sizzlers, thermidors, visiting yesteryear memories.
Phoenix is also known for their music line ups, stands out from all other pubs. The decor needs a mention, the lit chandeliers near the bar, the wooden structure, the high and low seating areas. Ample space to dance, chill, and make merry!
Our cocktails made by Sanu and team were stupendous, be it visually or dramatically, top notch.
My favorite pick - Sangria, Skull from #301, Mexican pepper Chilled, and Mid summer punch.
Also, why Phoenix features in my list of favorites, because of their menu. The food is more than nibbles, and you can actually plan and enjoy dinner in the company of your friends.
Their ghee roast mutton tikki is the my best tasted so far, small tikkis in round shape, filled with mutton mince tossed in ghee - perfect accompaniment for my sangria. This is followed by the potato chilli bites with jalapeno pepper dip, their tempura basket shaped like a basket but with the goodness of veggies in light batter coats, the mayo that came with it gave it the much needed kick. Their signature onion rings in horse radish dip, and their kebab platter with the choicest sheekh, boti, mahi tikka,malai tikka.
Their beer batter english fish , bacon wrapped chciken and some that need special trials too!
A quick look at the 1956 Kolkata menu, starting with toasted bread topped with minced shrimp, additionally topped with sesame. And the pan seared bhetki sizzler with veggies.
We loved the huge mudpie dessert which was served at the end.

The Phoenix Bar and Lounge is one of these iconic places, situated in Shakespeare Sarani. The ambience of the bar is fun, casual and colorful. The moment you enter the lounge, there is a warm, comfortable and fuzzy environment.
With mood lighting, neon glittering lights and lots of booze, you’re in for a gala time at this dreamy destination.
Apart from the fun vibe, when it comes to food, these guys are no less. You have to sip on their martinis and enjoy the juiciest burgers.
Avail their wilderness COMBO offers at a happy rate. They offers FOOD N ALCOHOL COMBOS starting at just INR 799 and ALCOHOL COMBOS at INR 1000. That’s our cue to go wild, people!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2star is only for ambience which was classy BUT!! - The staff was neither attentive nor
responsive in terms of service.
- The weekend vibe was a TOTAL TRASH
as they bluffed us that DJ is gonna
come, even after repeated query but
nothing happened even till 9:15 pm.
-We requested the man near DJ cabin
who was playing some music to play
Bollywood, he refused as he informed
that on Saturdays we only play trance.
- The Bill was initially manipulated as we
were charged 200/- extra then after
confronting them , Bill got rectified.
Overall experience was worst. I would suggest, Anyone who has plans for Phoenix should first enquire about The THEME otherwise you'll end up by getting BLUFFED by them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to unwind and let your hair down. Very very good music and lovely ambience. The place to go if you want to dance the night away with your friends. The staff are attentive and the service prompt. The drinks are first rate. However the only thing wrong I could find was the food. The whole experience was marred by the quality of the food. I hope they will be able make it better as this is such a nice place to enjoy oneself that I do not want it to get bad rating due to the food.
