★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My MacBook Pro stopped working. It was 6 months old and under warranty (bought in the US). I took it to Picatype who immediately said there were 3 very tiny resistors in the middle of the logic board that had gone bad. They claimed it was corrosion that had led to the resistors failing and called it water damage. There were no traces of liquid anywhere. The LCIs were not affected either. Bottomline this was not damage due to anything the customer could have done. I couldn't get anywhere with them for more than a month. Took my Mac to the US (fortunately had a trip coming up). Apple store there repaired it within 4 days since the product was in warranty. As there was no proof of any liquid damage they didn't try to push things back to the customer. Very disappointed in the difference between support at "Apple authorized" service center in India v/s the US.
