★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place gives you the chill down the bones ehen you come to think that India lost it's independency for the next 200 yrs. right here. Place is not very well maintained though. It has a Gate while entering from highway and a pillar at location. Though locals around told us actual place is further diwn the field where you an go by foot only. Place is dilapidated with only one tea shack around. I think this important monument needs a bit more care and promotion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From here the history of all India changed. The Battle of Palashi took place between Robert Clive and Sirajuddaula in 1757, but was defeated by Nawab Sirajuddaula due to the betrayal of Mir Jafar. From then on the English dominated India.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not much developed and maintained. But must visit place. Very important part of history. The place where the great battle of Plassey was fought.
Suggest the government to take se initiative to improve the place by placing some photographs or writeup in Hindi and English to attract the tourist.
Some write up about battle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited the Plassey War Monument only a few days ago. This place is situated near National Highway 34. The distance of the Plassey Battlefield Monument from National Highway 34 is approximately 3 KM. There is a statue of the Nawab Mirza Muhammad Siraj Ud-Daulah , then Nawab of Bengal and a Monument as a remembrance of Plassey Battle that happened against the British army in 1757. Although that battle was lost because of some backstabbing by Mirzafar but still it reminds us of how bravely Siraj Ud-Daulah fought that battle to save our nation and stop the british.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place from where Bengal lost freedom in 1757. The war between Robert clive and Nawab Siraj Ud-daulah began here and unfortunatly due to betreyal Bengal lost its freedom. So this is a very important place, chapter for Indian History, but this place still being treated as adopted child from every Govt. Govt should make the place better for history preservation.
