The Press Club of India is basically a meeting point for the journalists as it is located in the heart of Lutyans Delhi where Parliament House and other Ministries, which are the area of activity of the journalists, are located.
The idea to set up the Press Club of India was first conceived by eminent editor and veteran journalist Mr Durga Das way back in the early 1930s when he visited London as editor of the Associated Press of India which later came to be known as PTI. His visit to the London Press Club became a motivator for him to replicate the model in Delhi.
It was incorporated as a Company on March 10, 1958
Mr Durga Das later became its first president.

This much crowd on a weekday evening , means that this club is offering much more than a good dining experience .
This is place where officials linked with media do visit for their regular dose of discussion , inputs and sharing .
I met a lot of new persons , both young and seniors - all having infectious energy .
If you love company and are into networking then this is the place to be.

Nice dining facility, seating both indoor & outdoor with a functional bar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an old facility, but ageless - a monument to all that is famed as the fourth estate - I wanted to see this place from the inside, as had seen it o news events a lot of time - and though nothing fantastic , but if walls could speak- they would tell the fascinating stories of modern India , a must visit for any student of 'journalism' ( walking distnace from 'central secretariat Metro station )

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice, small place with a lovely open courtyard where one can meet and find quite many media people. The food is also quite good and economical. Had veg pasta in white sauce. You need to have a reference from a member to make entry at the reception. Sit, relax, converse, spend quality time and even work if you wish. Parking is a bit tricky though. Two parking spaces available - one for the members and the other for the guests. But difficult to find a spot.
