About Renaisstance Theatre Society
Renaisstance Theatre Society was formed in the year 2003 by an inspired team of actors from theatre and cinema. The mission of the group is to train and facilitate individuals from different walks of life to discover their creative expression. Theatre is a great vehicle to transform our emotions and mind. It brings out the hidden hero in people by the way of self-discovery, imagination, and empathy. With this intention Renaisstance takes a new stand on theatre- it is for everyone.

Mohit Tripathi is a renowned actor, writer, and director. An alumnus from IMAGO acting school. Mohit has had the opportunity to work with eminent theatre teachers such as Barry John & Habib Tanveer. He has acted in over thirty plays under the direction of Arvind Gaur, Bharti Sharma, Robin Das, Kirti Jain, Bipin Sharma, Avtar Sahni, Sanjeev Sharma, and Neeraj Kabi.
His most celebrated performances include Girish Karnad’s Tughlaq, Bhisham Sahni’s Andha Yug,Mahesh Dattani’s Final Solution, Tara, and Main bhi Bachchan.
Two of his original plays – Main bhi Bachchan and Masterpiece have been published and are performed with great enthusiasm. Mohit has also received the Best Actor award at the 11th Natsamrat Theatre Awards, 2018.
Other plays adapted and directed by him include Mahesh Elkunchwar’s Reflection, Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot and End Game, Romi &Julie, a Hariyanavi musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.
Mohit has also worked as the Associate Director on the National Award-winning film The Coffin-maker
starring Naseeruddin Shah.
Renaisstance Theatre Society is his brain-child!
Shilpa Shukla is a much-celebrated film and theatre actor working in the field for over twenty years. Her first film Khamosh Pani won several international awards including the Golden Leopard at Locarno. Her portrayal of Bindiya Naik in Shahrukh Khan starrer Bollywood Blockbuster Chak De India got her many popular awards including Stardust, Zee Cine awards and her first Filmfare nomination for Best Actor in a supporting role. In 2013, she acted in the critically acclaimed neo-noir film B.A.Pass for which she received her first Filmfare, Best Actor(critics). Her other films include National award-winning films Frozen and The Coffin maker. She has been trained under M.K.Raina, Barry John, Mahesh Dattani, Kirti Jain, Arvind Gaur, and Bharti Sharma. Her recent Solo Act, an adaptation of Dario Fo & Franka Rame’s Woman Alone, gained much love and appreciation from the audiences.
Theatre, she believes is the vehicle to practice the Craft of Acting.
