A wonderful volunteer-driven initiative that aims to improve the quality of life for people everywhere with routine medical camps, daily food drives and more. The white box nature of its working means anyone can become a part of Sai Aashraya any time. Truly a great venture!

Round the clock Free food provided by Sai Aashraya to the needy especially small kids is amazing... so very thoughtful and very much needed in the present situation. Medical camp organised by this group is extraordinary and very much like the selfless motive of the members. Another unique service done by the group is providing hot tea ,snacks, food for the Toll Gate drivers at Attibele is something worth mentioning.... Good luck to the team to continue the great work.

Here's my experience during Christmas celebrations with residents of Sai Aashraya Adarsh Gram, Dharmapuri, in Sai Aashraya's Headquarters. In December 2019, I had the opportunity to visit Sai Aashraya in Bengaluru. I got to know that people with Leprosy are invited to visit from a village in Dharmapuri, to Sai Sannidhi, home of Sai Aashraya, on the auspicious day of Christmas. The day started at 7 AM when multiple volunteers left Sai Aashraya in their own personal cars to pick up the leprosy patients from the outskirts of Bengaluru where they were stay put over night the previous day. When all cars arrived one at a time around 8:30 AM, each and every one of them, old to young, were welcomed by roses right in front of the house. The sight was so unbelievable to describe. They all were invited warmly to sit in the living room among everyone else in the family, and warm breakfast was served lovingly to each and every one of them by volunteers. It was an unforgettable moment when I was given the opportunity to serve a very old lady. Her fingers were mostly eaten by the dreadful disease, years before Sai Aashrya came into their lives. And now they are all fully healed, without a question due to the personal care and love showered by Sai Aashraya. However, she couldn’t eat herself. For every spoon I fed her, she would lovingly smile at me. She had the most beautiful and innocent smile I have ever seen. Tears welled up on my eyes and I felt the joy of my life at that moment. First time ever I had the feeling of seeing God in human form. Now I know the importance of serving. Sharing this with lots of gratitude to Sai Aashraya for providing this opportunity.

β€œService is Love in Action”- You can truly experience this when you attend any of the Service Projects of Sai Aashraya in Bangalore. I was blessed with this opportunity in the last two visits to India. During my first visit in 2018, I got a chance to attend the Breakfast Seva program in Golden School(special needs kids). As soon as we went, all the kids assembled in the dining hall with utmost discipline and seated in an orderly manner. The most touching part was - the volunteers served each and every dish on the plate with a smile and by patting them gently on their back inquiring about them. I felt all the volunteers of Sai Aashraya had a personal connection with each and every kid over there. This was truly inspirational to me because - β€œThe person who is serving, the recipient of the service and the process of serving are all oneβ€”and are all divine”. During my next visit in February 2020, I got the opportunity to attend Sai Aashraya’s Medical Camp which was my long awaited dream. This was a two-day event, yes I call it as an event - because it was indeed a festive atmosphere where the entire camp was organized, clean and built the previous day in just a matter of 4-5 hours. All the volunteers greet and welcome each and every one of them with a broad smile, be it patients, doctors or volunteers and that makes you feel cared and loved. I was assigned the job to take patients inside the doctors cabin and help as needed. Here, the most striking factor which really moved me was the utmost love and care shown by the high profile doctors, their attention to detail and repeating the importance of nutrition(what to eat, what not to eat, exercise) to each and every patient tirelessly which I have never seen being done in any of the hospitals. The doctor also explained to me the importance of personal touch - which will directly express care, compassion and comfort to the patients. Many patients told me that they are just happy seeing the warmth, love and support the doctors and volunteers pour onto them that they feel they are already cured. Just being there two days with such amazing people was a memorable and unforgettable experience that cannot be explained in words. Another inspiring observation was that the entire team of doctors and volunteers do not waste even a single minute just to make sure they can serve as many patients as possible in a day. They don’t take any breaks in between except a lunch break for 10-15 minutes maximum, then come back in action with the same energy and enthusiasm unlike in other hospitals and camps I have seen in the past. This shows the dedication, commitment and love of Team Sai Aashraya towards serving people. I am very thankful and will always be grateful to the entire Sai Aashraya team for giving me this opportunity as this taught me how to practice humility and compassion through Service, the highest form of Spiritual Discipline.

I happened to volunteer at Sai Aashraya breakfast camp and I was overwhelmed to see the group of volunteers getting up very early in the morning, working hard to serve breakfast for slum children who are no way related to them. This is service rendered completely selfless and these smalls acts are the spiritual fabric of our nation, that serves as the building blocks for our nation. I happened to volunteer on the day when they had a celebration, they had planned a simple yet value based games for kids and entertained them on the weekend. All my life, I have seen slum children being ignored, here I saw people playing value based games with them with the intention of teaching them love, peace and joy. When I heard from the teachers of the government school acknowledging the development of kids not just in the education front but also in their nutrition front and the values these kids display in school with elders and other students over the months have remarkably changed for the better, to hear this from the school representatives praising the change in students behavior was very inspiring

I came to know about the Organization through my friend. The work that happens at this organization is truly inspiring and amazing. They go to different rural areas and offer food and Medical camps. I have already heard a lot of impact stories about this group/Org. The only principle they follow is - Service to Man is Service to God! Highly encourage and recommend everyone to join the cause and make a difference in the community. Today i happen to volunteer for the breakfast Seva at one of the schools and I must say the work that Sai Aashraya is doing just amazing and with so much selflessness. The kids were happy and their healths and attendance at schools have improved a lot. I wish you all the very best. - Updated Review - During my next visit in February 2020, I got the opportunity to attend Sai Aashraya’s Medical Camp which was my long awaited dream.
