★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To start with, review is not really with respect to the flat.Stayed there for 2 years and flat is good ,located in a nice place with no water problem.
Issue is with how owner will deal when you vaccate.
I had paid 80k advance and rent was 22.5k
Due to lockdown i was at hometown for 7 months and due to the same and other issues owner agreed to reduce the rent by 5k from August till December.We would have vaccated by giving notice in August if rent was not reduced which was clearly told during discussion.That was a verbal agreement over phone.
We vaccated on December end as verbal agreement of reduced rent was till December.Also as the inverter battery was unused for 7 months battery became dead.Please note that battery was already 2 yrs old when i took the flat.
On knowing this owner wanted 10k for a new battery for which he didn't want to pay any share.
I was ready to pay 50%-75% but he didn't agree finally he waived it off and then added he would charge me back 5k (reduced rent)for all months.So he charged back 5,000*5=25k(for 5 months : August-December)
This was completely against verbal agreement.He did these to others tenants who vaccated .
Reason told was he reduced rent thinking that we will stay there's for long time,which was never told.Only thing which was communicated is that the reduction is till December.
Tricky way to keep tenants by agreeing to a reduced rent,and then reclaiming money from deposit when vaccating by telling unacceptable excuses.
Painting charge he took only 15k,which is actual amount to paint a 2bhk,unlike normal Bangalore norm i.e one month rent
