This is a new place in Bavdhan which serves pure veg food and it's speciality is Varhadi cuisine which is traditional spicy and oily food! This place has a both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating is minimal , simple and good. The staff here is a little undertrained but considering that it's a very new restaurant it's totally understandable. The service speed was also slow. Coming back to food : ***There were both bad and good dishes that I tried here at this place so let's just talk about the good dishes here which you must try : 1) Paneer Kalegi : This was a spicy and a little tangy tasting gravy with sauteed paneer chunks in traditional Varhadi masala. The paneer was fresh and this curry is more on the runny side. Loved it! 2) Paneer Mirch Masala : The gravy here was rich in texture and the spiciness it gets is from the the green chillies which are actually crushed and used in making this gravy. This gravy is not actually very very spicy but has a little zing to it. Again the paneer was fresh and soft. 3) Patodi : This is called the Patodyachi Rassa Bhaji which is basically a oily , spicy and runny gravy made in typical Varhadi masalas with diamond shaped thin pieces of roti made of gram flour. This dish has to be had with a nice Bhakri! ? 4) Gajar Halwa & Moong Halwa : I loved this both desserts here. The Gajar Halwa was so melt in mouth and had a rich texture & the Moong Halwa was perfect as it wasn't overly sweet and also full of richness from all that ghee! Overall this place is a good one to visit along with your Family and Colleagues if you are in for some delicious, spicy Varhadi style food!!

Saudade veg is a pretty adorable restaurant located in bavdhan, the place has a indoor as well as outdoor seating, the indoor seating has bright yellow lights with comfortable seating and gives a simplistic vibe which suits for everyone including friends, loved ones, family and even for a business meet, the outside seating gives you a feel of garden restaurant with as plants are situated all around the compound and it gives nice, cozy feel. This place mainly focuses on serving varhadi cuisine which is meant to be spicy and bit oily but however they do customize your dish if you gave instructions at the time of ordering, along with varhadi cuisine they also serve punjabi cuisine which includes basic starters and gravies, the best part of this restaurant is that all the gravies are freshly prepared with proper flavours and texture with good presentation and quality. The varhadi cuisine includes all the vegeterian dishes from vidharbha right from paneer gravies to patodi and kadhi everything is made in proper masalas and spices which gives good taste and flavours to the dish which is something really appreciable and perfect. They have also kept chinese menu for kids which includes manchurian, noodles and different types of rice and starters. Coming on to the food which i tried here: 1)PANEER KURKURE:This was paneer coated with crispy fried papad and tossed in schezwan sauce, the paneer was soft, the schezwan sauce was sweet with slight spicy which was coated well to paneer, the dish was served with schezwan sauce. 2)CHEESE CIGARS:This was crispy fried spring roll sheets with stuffing of veggies and cheese, the rolls were nicely fried and the cheese gave a good flavour to dish. 3)PANEER MIRCH MASALA:This was gravy made up of green chillies which have don't have spiciness and was finished with creamy, overall the gravy was rich and creamy with slight spiciness of the green chilies, the paneer cubes were big in size and was soft, a good dish. 4)PANEER SELFIE:This dish has unique name with unique twist, the paneer in this dish was cut into slices and was stuffed with boiled potatoes which were tossed in masala, the gravy was onion and tomato based and had a creamy taste which was really good, this dish is definitely worth to try. 5)PANEER KALEGI:This was a gorgeous paneer dish i ever had, the paneer was marinated in varhadi masala and the gravy was thick and spicy with a glaze of oil, the paneer was soft and fresh and the gravy had a strong flavour of masala which was too amazing on palate.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 6)PATODI:This was a slight running gravy with thin triangle shape pieces of roti made up of gram flour and spices, the gravy had strong flavour of coconut with spicy taste, the masala was from vidharbha and gave good spicy hint on palate which made it even better.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 7)GULABJAMUN WITH HOT CHOCOLATE:This was soft and moist gulabjamun topped with hot chocolate, the sweetness was balanced and the gulabjamun complemented the hot chocolate.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 8)MOONG DAL KA HALWA:The best moong dal halwa i had till now, it was moist and literally drenched in clarified butter and was topped with roasted dry fruits which a good crunch. 9)DRY FRUIT HALWA:This was halwa made up of dry fruits and kalakand, each and every bite had a crunch of dry fruits and was well balanced in sweetness and was creamy.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 10)GAJAR KA HALWA:This was soft and rich gajar halwa topped with dry fruits with balanced proportion of milk and mawa, a must have at this restaurant. Top five reasons to visit this place: 1)This place serves varhadi cuisine which is really very rare. 2)This place uses proper masala and spices required to make food. 3)This place has varieties of different options in veg food so you have a lot of different options to eat. 4)This place has indoor as well as outdoor seating, you can sit anywhere as per your convenience. 5)This is pocket friendly you don't have to spend a huge amount of money for good and unique food.

I thought this was yet another restaurant in Bavdhan. I happened to get inside it thinking about a quick snack like dinner (read Pav Bhaji), but to my surprise the menu had one exciting section. It said Varadhi and our mouth turned watery or whatever you call it. All the items were your regular home dishes, but with a Varadhi style/flavour to it. As suggested by them we settled for Sham-Savere, which is a mid spicy red gravy dish. It was recommended that we have it with there cheese paratha. By the time it was getting ready, we ordered the Akola styled Pani Puri. It looked tasty and tasted as we imagined it. The main dish arrived and it looked good. It was amazing. I guess all other dishes Varadhi or their normal ones would also be tasty. The main restaurant is located on the mezzanine floor, but we choose to sit on the ground floor. Saudade is a Portuguese word for deep emotion towards food (as per the owners). But it felt their intention behind opening the place. We enjoyed the place, hope it gains popularity and serves people with the same passion.

Saudade - the ?? Portuguese meaning is longing for something and the taste does say that as it will remind you of your childhood memories of Maharashtrian food. The Ambience is pretty decent and not too fancy yet it really feels fancy enough. The black and white stripped tables make a perfect background for clicking food pics ? so do bring your dslr with you. They got sitting arrangement inside and downstairs, which is a very casual not too fancy one. I loved the black coffee they made for me it was not a machine coffee but still loved it. This place may be bit fancy in respect of decor but this is a place I had my doubts about their food but I was happily surprised with the taste and flavors of the dishes. There are the can't go wrong dishes hea!! Green pepper soup Veg lollipop (worth your insta) Cheese cigar rolls Vangyachi bhaji is too awesome and it's a bit spicy and I think that's how it is supposed to be right? Paneer kalegi Medium spicy paneer dish. Sham savera Spinach kofta with potato inside with delicious tomato yogurt gravy. Jumbo naan is something different here. Akola pani puri is for pani puri fanatics. So this place has good Maharashtrian food as well as Punjabi. It's a new outlet in bavdhan but I'm happy I found two of my favorite cuisines under one roof ❤️?. Let's rate this! Ambience 4/5 Food 5/5 Vfm 5/5 Overall 5/5. New one in bavdhan but definitely a good one.

'Saudade' which means 'affection for food' in Portuguese stands perfect for this restaurant's name as you'll definitely fall in love of food which is served here. They're serving in akola for more than 25 years and this is their first branch in Pune. The ambiance is very nicely done with pink walls, cute mirrors on the walls, black & white tables. They've indoor as well as outdoor seating arrangement. Now, coming to the food we tried : ⏺️ Soup : Firstly we had Tomato soup and Green Pepper soup. Both of them were tasty but I liked green pepper soup more which had a very nice garlicky taste. ⏺️ Starters : We had Cheese Cigar Roll, Veg Lollipop, Rim Zim Tikka, Paneer Tikka Dry. Cheese Cigar Rolls were so crispy filled with a spicy cheese mixture. Veg lollipop had very balanced flavors and was going superbly with schezwan sauce. I really liked both these starters. Both the paneer starters were not properly marinated and so didn't appeal me much. ⏺️ Mains : In main course we tried a great variety of sabjis which consisted of Punjabi as well as special Varhadi Sabji. Sham-Savera had palak koftas stauffed with cheese and was served in makhani gravy. I totally loved this one. Paneer Kaleji is one of their star dish in which paneer is fried first and then cooked in a spicy masala. Loved it! Patodi bhaji and Vangyachi bhaji are their Varhadi special sabji which were also good in taste. With these sabji we had 'Jumbo Naan' which was really really jumbo and you should definitely have this. ⏺️ Desserts : In desserts, I liked Dry Fruit Halwa which had right amount of sweetness and lots of dry fruits. Also, Gulabjamun with Hot chocolate was pretty good but this combination was too sweet for me. So in a nutshell, do visit Saudade to try some lipsmacking veg dishes.

Suadade Veg is the latest veg restaurant on the block. This restaurant is run by a famous Ratnam Group from Akola, MH. The group is into catering business from 25 years, & their experience can be witnessed in their operations of this newly restaurant. The place mainly boasts of its hot & spicy authentic Varhadi (Vidharbha region of MH) cuisine & North Indian dishes. They are also planning to expand the Maharashtrian cuisine menu, by introducing their much-discussed about thali & few other dishes in some days' time. The vegetarians in the city are surely going to witness a sheer deliciousness through this exciting menu. They also have separate snacks section in the ground floor. The ambience here plays a key role in making your meal a classic one. Coming to its food, I started off with some appetizers - Paneer Kurkure, where crushed papad layers' coated Paneer pieces were coupled with the freshly prepared Schezwan sauce. They were good in taste. Then there were Cheese Cigars, where in the fried thin rolls of Cheese, Paneer & garlic infused into it. Again coupled with the Schezwan sauce, the cigars left strong garlic Flavour to relish. It was time for the mains, & they have long list of the dishes to serve. I, (along with my friends) tried a few of them. To start with Paneer Kalegi, where the Paneer blocks, chopped in in slightly bigger shape, blended in a specific masala & was served along with a typically thick Varhadi gravy. The paneer-gravy combination just took the dish to next level. It was really delicious in taste. I would recommend this dish. Next up was Paneer Mirch masala. Here the thick gravy with green chillies, capsicum in it, had Paneer pieces for the company. This dish tasted decent. Paneer Selfie is what they call to the next dish, where a sandwich alike layers of paneer were involved in a thick gravy. It was delicious too. Patodi or Patavadi bhaji, which is one of the signature dishes from Vidarbha region. Wheat flour or Gram flour pieces are drowned into a spicy curry, which is made with extra oil (in Vidarbha region the gravy preparation has oil involved in extra amount purposely to make it fiery abit). This dish was really authentic & delightful, as it was supposed to be. I would definitely recommend it. I must say the chef here, has really taken some efforts in preparation of the gravy (in all the dishes). Since these dishes, looked spicy, tasted really well, yet they were not full of fire, which makes them available for people of all age groups & types. Last to come up was Dal Makhani & it was superb. A rich, creamy & buttery flavour of the Makhani was too good. It really was a better Dal Makhani, than the usual ones. We also tried the veg Biryani & to my amazement it was delicious. I really didn't expect the Biryani to be that good. But it was. In desserts, we Gajar ka Halwa, Moong Dal Halwa. These both desserts did well. Something I never tried before here was, Gulab Jamun with hot chocolate. Thus combination was new to me & it was decent. The service here was great. The staff was courteous & quick. The prices are reasonable & portion sizes were good too. If you're planning to dine in Bavdhan/Kothrud area, this very place is a must on your list. I recommend this place. ??

Saudade by Ratnam #NewPlaceAlert #PureVeg #SuperbCurries Saudade is a pure veg restaurant by Ratnam group from Akola Maharashtra, Ratnam group is into catering and party lawn business from almost 25 years and is pretty famous in that region. They have now entered Pune’s food scene with a pure veg restaurant that serves North Indian and Varhadi Cuisine, they also have a separate all day snacks section which serves South Indian, Pav Bhaji and Chinese food. The restaurant is spread across 1600 plus sq.ft area with an elegant comtemperory Indian decor. The seating space is also comfortable. Starters Paneer Kurkure: Paneer pieces coated with crushed papad layer along with their in house prepared schezwan sauce was good in taste, I was expecting the coating to be slightly crispy, paneer was soft and fresh the schezwan sauce was really good, it was one of the best which I had. I feel that this dish would go better without the schezwan sauce coating. #Recommended. Cheese Cigar: Cheese, Paneer and garlic based stuffing rolled into a thin flour wrapper was depp fried, the coating was crispy and the stuffing had lots of garlic in it and was slightly pungent, i loved the strong punch of garlic in it. The schezwan sauce was perfect accompaniment for this dish. #Highlyrecommended Mains Paneer Kaleji: Paneer pieces tossed in masala was served alogn with a thick Vardahi gravy which had a spicy kick and was exceptional in taste. The paneer was extremely soft and fresh, the gravy was thick and had burst of flavors, this is a chef’s specialty dish and is indeed a #MustHave Paneer Mirch Masala: Paneer pieces done in a spicy and rich thick gravy was medium spicy in taste. It had green chillies and capsicum in it but it wasn’t too spicy and was good in taste. #Recommended Dal Makhani: A very unusual preparation of dal makhani, this is a specialty of akola i.e vidharbha side of Maharashtra, the preparations has black gram and rajma along with some finely chopped tomato (not puree) and onions in it along with secret spices. It was rich, buttery and creamy but the flavor was quite unique and was very impressive. #Highlyrecommended Paneer Selfie: A sandwich prepared with 2 layers of paneer stuffed with some roasted poppy seeds in between was served along with thick and medium spicy gravy which was extremely well done. #Highlyrecommended. Cheese Angoori: Corn flour coated cheese based balls were deep fried, then soaked in a very thick and rich gravy, it also had methi in it and was truly impressive, the gravy was medium spicy. #Recommended Patodi: Thin slices of wheat flour in rhombus shape soaked In a spicy and slightly thin curry was excellent in taste. The curry had a spicy aftertaste and was slightly oily ( the preparation from vidharbha region are supposed to be bit spicy and oily). Indeed a delicious preparation. #Highlyrecommended Veg Biryani: Well cooked and moist long grain rice with assorted veggies and paneer in a medium spicy masala was good in taste, definitely a good option for pure vegetarian folks. #Recommeded Desserts We tried Gajar Ka Halwa, Moong Dal Halwa, Gulabjamun with Hot Chocolate Sauce and Dry Fruit Halwa. The dry fruit halwa was spicy sweet in taste but the rest preparations were not too sweet and nicely done. I was also impressed with the slightly warm gulabjamun which was covered with hot chocolate sauce, it was a nice combo and the gulabjamun was soft and moist. Overall: The food served at Saudade was one of the best veg dishes that I had in terms of quality, the gravies especially are freshly prepared daily without any added preservatives or food colors, the portion size is enough for 2-3 people, pricing is reasonable and restaurant was hygienic. The management is open to feedback and suggestions. I am excited to try their snacks options as well and will be visiting soon for the same. I wish Team Saudade all the best and success.
