Established in the early 90’s, SCL started primarily as an Intermediate manufacturer. Presently, we take pride as being one of the largest Cephalosporin and Carbapenem Intermediate manufacturer in India. With the inception of API facility in 2004, SCL offers a wide range of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients to its customers worldwide.

SCL is headquartered at Panchkula, Haryana, with manufacturing facilities at Derabassi, Mohali, Punjab and marketing divisions at New Delhi and Mumbai. The manufacturing facility of the Company comply with European Union Good Manufacturing Practices (EU GMP), United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) and Japanese Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) norms. The API facility has been certified as GMP compliant three times by United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) and six times by European Authorities. Latest certification was carried out by US FDA in March 2018 and by Japanese PMDA in May 2019. The Company is empanelled with World Health Organization (WHO) Geneva. SCL is also registered with Russian Ministry of Health (MOH), Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Australia, amongst others.

SCL’s products are exported to Europe, Japan, Russia, North, South and Central America, ASEAN, Western Asia and MENA regions. We are present in more than 75 countries. Amongst our international customers are: Sanofi Aventis, DSM, Sandoz, Stada, Eisai, Actavis, Lonza, Krka, A.E. Tieffenbacher, etc. while our domestic customers include major pharmaceutical companies such as Lupin, Ranbaxy, Hospira(ex-Orchid) and Aurobindo Pharma.

Besides manufacturing, SCL also operates a pharmaceutical trading and distribution business offering Generic Finished Dosages and Pharmaceutical Ingredients. Our participation in areas across the pharmaceuticals industry ensures first-hand, leading-edge knowledge and bolsters our strength as a partner to customers and suppliers alike.

In 2013, Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan acquired an equity stake in the Company. On the back of this partnership, SCL made inroads into the Japanese Market. SCL uses Mitsubishi Corporation’s widespread distribution network in USA and Europe to distribute its products in these regions.

MANAGEMENT

Parveen Goyal- Chairman cum Management Director
Qualifications /Year: B.E Electronics (1982)

Mr. Goyal belongs to a business family from interior Punjab. He started his entrepreneurial journey immediately after his Graduation with the manufacturing of surfactants. In 1997, taking up a challenge from Ranbaxy supply source team he set up the first Intermediate manufacturing unit at Village Saidpura, Distt Mohali in Punjab. The unit has since then gone on to become the largest Bromine handling facility in the hinterlands and produces 7-8 critical KSM/ Side chain and other Pharma intermediates used in manufacturing of Cephalosporins and Carbapenems. In 2003, he established the second manufacturing plant in Village Bhagwanpura, Distt Dera Bassi on a 10 Acre plot of land. The unit was set up to cater to the requirements of Indian and Foreign MNCs needing APIs and Advanced Intermediates and received its first EU GMP approval in 2005. The unit now has several Manufacturing blocks and majorly exports its production to several regulated markets.

Mr. Goyal has acquired experience in all areas of Management. He is known for his passion for optimization and perfection, he has also spearheaded the setting up of the company’s in-house ERP systems. The excellent reputation that SCL enjoys in its peer group is largely owed to the principles and values set by him. In his latest role as a leader, he is now involved in setting the Goals and vision for the next generation of SCL businesses and growth.

Udayan Sengupta- Director

Mr. Sengupta heads Business Development and Sales for International Markets. A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala, India, he also did his Post Graduation in International Trade from IIFT, New Delhi, India. After working in several companies including a few multinationals, he joined the company in the year 2000 and was co-opted as a member of the Board in 2003. With 37 years of industrial experience including19 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and notable expertise driving corporate value creation by partnering with many clients worldwide resulting in exports to over 75 different countries.

Saurav Goyal- Director

Saurav completed his Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University, NY in the year 2013. It was around this time that Mitsubishi Corporation invested in SCL. To better understand the systems and processes followed in large MNCs and to get a broader perspective of the Chemicals and allied Industries, he got an opportunity to work as an employee with Mitsubishi offices, first in New Delhi and then in New Jersey.

In both places Saurav successfully dealt with and added value to Mitsubishi Sales. In the course of five years spent with Mitsubishi he has marketed products ranging from Agrochemicals, Excipients, APIs, Fine Chemicals and Advanced intermediates.

Given this background and the Journey on which SCL has now embarked upon, he has been appointed to head the Critical “New Product Development” portfolio.
