The Sawai Man Singh II Town Hall orΒ Naya MahalΒ is located in Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan and one of the three of the "Golden Triangle" of tourism in India. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh founded Jaipur, also popularly known as the Pink City in 1727. Built of pink stucco in imitation of sandstone, the city is remarkable among pre-modern Indian cities for its urban planning concepts, palaces and a unique observatory.Β The majestic Sawai Man Singh II Town Hall was constructed in 1880–83. Designed by Architect Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, it has had multiple uses with the first one being to house the Jaipur Exhibition in 1883. Later, this structure of 8000 m2Β area was used as an assembly hall in pre-independence India. It is in the central tourist district and local hub, within walking distance of other attractions like the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Wind), Jantar Mantar (observatory) and the City Palace Museum. The nodal agency of the Government of Rajasthan, Amber Development and Management Authority (AD&MA) appointed Lord Cultural Resources as a consultant to transform this commanding building into a museum of international standards dedicated to the city of Jaipur. This proposed museum is a first of its kind in India as a unique experiential museum based on the collection of the AD&MA and the history of Jaipur. Lord Cultural Resources consulted for the project right from the visioning and concept phase, through planning and design. The exhibitions tell the story of Jaipur with a strong emphasis on the regional and historical context of Rajasthan. The new Museum includes a gallery dedicated to children and families.

This place was the palace (mahal) of King (Maharaja) Sawai Man Singh. He used to live here and all the accessories used for attacks and defenses were stored here. His army used to protect him 24 Γ— 7 from his enemies. His attacking items are still there in the town hall and tourists can see these things. This town hall is very popular among the tourists.

Not sure about the place. It's on the way to Hawa Mahal and looked very good. A government office may be and hence not a tourist destination! It's not like you have to visit this place if you are a tourist! If you liked this review please give a thumbs-up below! ?

Beautiful Structure made by the late Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II for organising his State Events. Post independence it also served as state legislative assembly until 2001. It has Modern architecture from outside explaining how European architecture influenced the latter period of Indian Designs. It’s Pink coloured building in accordance to walled city colours. As you move down towards Sri Deori bazaar from Hawa Mahal, you will see Beautiful Sawai Man Singh Townhall on your left side about 500 meters from Hawa Mahal
