Doesn't need a recommendation as it's an old outlet. Shalimar is known for its kebabs, mughlai cuisine and desserts. A must visit if you're around Mohammad Ali road. Khajana Platter is a treat if you want to try out their kebabs. Mutton Nihari and Shahi tukda was the highlight of our dinner. Hyderabadi chicken is also a must try. Would recommend to enjoy their Mughlai cuisine than going for Chinese dishes.

One of the best restaurant in Mumbai to try if you are a foodie. You should try mutton dishes and mutton soup for sure. Chicken dishes are also very good and tasty. Restaurant opens at 8.30AM and closes near 12AM. You'll get room near the restaurant for normal rates. Public transport is also available to reach the hotel. We reached the restaurant at evening and had dinner from there. And tried mutton soup, mutton biriyani and mutton hungama sizzlers, mutton brain dishes and some drinks like falooda and pepsi. The restaurant is in located in very crowdy market and you have to park outside the restaurant This is one disadvantage of this place. So of you sre planning to visit the restaurant, try to avoid private cars and better park them on any other places.

It's a one time must try. I tried chicken tikka masala, chicken kepsa, chicken tandoori and shawarma. Shawarma was pretty disappointing and costly. Costed me β‚Ή145/-. Rest the other dishes were nice. Decent quantity but amazing taste. The ambience is very big and provide food to many people at once even when it's extremely crowded. Hygiene is well maintained and servicing is nice too. Might take a little time to serve your dish but overall experience was worth it. ❀

Yuck ! Tried it after a long time ( have dined here numerous times a few years ago ), threw most of the food ( it wasn't worth donating even to a beggar or even feed the chicken, mutton to our dogs ). ONLY name, nothing else anymore! Only a few eating joints have the guts to maintain their legacy and keep the quality of their food intact!

Ek baar toh yaha khaana banta hai boss!! If you ever happen to visit town do visit this super awesome restaurant❀ From the ambience to the food to the staff to the service everything was upto the mark. But yes it will surely dig a hole in your packet as dishes are a bit pricey and quantity is less as compared to the price however if you are a true foodie and runs behind the taste same like me then nothings gonna stop you?. Dishes to try: 1. Mutton biryani 2. Chicken tandoori 3. Mutton keema 4. Chicken crispy 5. Mutton khichda These dishes were honestly quite delectable, succulent, mouthwatering and soulfilling!!! Dishes not to try: 1. Chicken angara 2. Chicken fried rice- it was okayish you can try if you want to as taste differs from person to person. 3. Chicken shawarma

I went to Shalimar restaurant on the last Sunday during Ramzan with very high expectations with my family, 5 of us. We were disappointed. The restaurant is easy to get to from Masjid Bunder Railway station or even CST. But the area is generally crowded and noisy. Not too pleasant. Being Ramzan, the waiting time was high but the staff were polite and helped us get a table. The tables however, were not clean. I had to request the attendant to wipe the tables, twice, as the surface had oil leftover and had become sticky. The staff taking orders seemed overwhelmed and they were not too keen on suggesting what we should have. They were like, 'Sab special hai'. Maybe they were tired. We ordered Paya soup, Chicken Manchow soup, Nalli Nihari, Rumali Roti and Mutton Biryani. Except for the Paya soup, everything else seemed average... Like something that you'd get anywhere in a Mughlai restaurant in the suburbs of Mumbai. In fact, I've had better Mughlai food in suburban Mumbai to be honest. We did not order more as the order took longer than 30 minutes and we were not happy with the food either. However, we ordered Egg Schezwan Fried Rice as we were hungry and topped it off with Shalimar Special Falooda, both of which were good. Maybe, it was Ramzan and due to the crowds, the service and quality was impacted. Will make a visit once again on a quiet weekend and hopefully, it'll be better.
