★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shambhu Dhaba means 'FISH' ... Small canteen but famous for serving best quality of lunch. Not only Bengalis are fond of this place but students from other states too loved it. If you visit JNU, make sure that you're visiting this place too. It usually opens at 12:45 pm till 2:30 pm. Hope this review is helpful to you... Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only lunch available here12:30 to 14:00. Excellent East Indian flavours especially the non veg fare. Easy on the pocket, fresh "slow food" that is lovingly dished out by Shombu-da. All NV items get lapped up in 1 hour flat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is located in the Faculty Centre of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). A small canteen famous for fish curry but their cooking in general is very good. Even mutton curry is yummy. It is a good small place for organising small private parties in JNU. The facilities are basic and furniture is old. The place is usually clean. Their service is generally good. The staffs are friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fish curry (Machher Jhol) in Bengali style is very good here. There are other variety of fish curry too. Love the mutton curry on, especially on Sunday. Aloo posto is also (Bengali sabzi) preferred here. Other seasonal vegetables and daal is also tasty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good food at affordable rate. Being a malayali, I used to go there when I miss Kerala fish curry. And when I'm back to Kerala, I started missing Bengali fish curry of Shambhu dhabha ! Very tasty chicken and mutton curry is also available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bengali flavoured fish curry (macher jhol), Chicken curry with minimum price, and additional items are also very tasty, especially Daal. Anyone could have fish curry (Rohu) within 40 ₹. It's my favourite there.
