Writing after Prelims 2020.
Classes taken during July2019 -Feb2020 before Covid
I have tried to give a honest feedback which benefits the people who are planning to join the institute as well as the institute
Pros:
1)Teaching for getting conceptual clarity .
Polity ,Geography,Environment,History(Economics was not taken by Madam)
2)Test series question
3)During covid break:Phoenix initiative during last month of prelims
Providing video lectures to uncovered classes
Cons:
1)Mainly Chennai preference, in test discussion as we were given recorded videos.
2)No proper schedule was given for classes,on many request by student a tentative schedule was given in october while classes started in july
3)Being a weekend student,sometimes due to office hours classes were missed ,no recording was given though they had promised before.
4)Most important during covid break :
When the institute should have stepped in and guided us with study plan ,there wasnt any communication for 1-1.5 months,while other institute did come out and gave some information.
You can check with the economic survey which was published in june month ,whereas others had done in feb
5)no study material will be given,
Shankar ias daily current affairs on youtube are good enough.
6)While the website talks of many intiative
from our experience,mentoring was done for 2 weeks and stopped
similarly mains answer writing
Conclusion:
Choose if you want classroom experience and a beginner it is a good place or else UPSC now with its questionnaire encourages everyone to understand daily concepts any online daily explanation will be more than useful saving money ,time .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trying to give unbiased feedback.. i was a student of their weekend batch.
Cons :
1. One or two teacher has horrible subject knowledge. And upon repeated complaints he wasn't replaced by the management.
2. The management will easily go back on their words, we were promised recorded classes at the beginning but weren't given.
3. Class schedules are all chaotic, couldn't give us one timetable.
4. Mostly the classes are chennai based. It was funny how we sat for this one environmental class which was mostly abojt the dried up chenni rivers..
5. The front office staff at bangalore are un excusably rude.
6. Unresponsive, unreachable to the concerns students have.
Pros :
1. Test series were good
2. The management had good ideas, but without the will and wit to put them to action.
3. Some of the teachers are very good and memorable.
4. Materials, books were good
5. They advise good upsc strategy.
6. You will get in touch with some serious students.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a person with zero knowledge in UPSC exams. But I had a lot of interest in choosing IAS as my career path.
So I decided to approach Shankar gate academy. The inital counselling was given by Madam Rekha . She is one of the best counsellor I have come accross.. She was very much precise and straight to the point covering all the various topics involved in UPSC examination. I would request other also to approach this academy if you have interests of writing the exams and succeeding in it. Counselling by Madam REKHA is the must, which will give you the initial trigger to crack the exams.Thank you

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Management was worst and beginners are not suitable. Even though they complete syllabus but only focusing syllabus not gud training for upsc.
Online was worst , they combined all batches. No mentoring. Waste of money.
