★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Crazy crowd. Tried this place out during the lockdown period. They had a huge queue for a chicken biryani and a shorter line for mutton biryani. The food was average. Maybe due to the parcel. Not sure. Will want to try a dine in maybe next time. Parking also is very difficult near the shop for four wheeler.

Either Way i would like to give my point of view to you all, firstly it was cramped the people were here and there and queue was very long had to wait for about 1 hour.
There were around 50 to 80 people at a time in the restaurant yet the staff somehow managed to keep the crowd as less as possible.
Though mere effort of staff was not enough to handle the crowd the kitchen staff were rushing here and there to serve the food.
Where as the food, well what to say it explains the given crowd and frankly it was very nice and being a old hotel (since 1935) Shivaji military hotel has kept it's reputation top notch,The queue can be managed very well then we don't have to wait in for hours and can follow COVID precaution. Must try chicken biryani / mutton biryani with chicken or mutton dry.
Timing is from 8 am to 3 pm daily.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not worth the hype. The biriyani is very good, and quantity is also perfect. This was the first time I had this quantity of rice, and didn't feel so full!
But it would be better to take it as Parcel.
The food is cooked efficiently and cleanly I am sure. And the Jonna in which the biriyani is served is also probably clean
But the banana leaves on which the food is served, and the way the tables are cleaned leave a lot to be desired.
Moreover, one normally has to wait quite a while to grab a seat. And then you wait to grab the eye of the staff to place your order.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience as always. Have been coming to this restaurant since 4 years, my belly and i are always extremely happy to be here. The mutton biriyani, mutton dry and chicken chops are to die for. I recently visited the place with my fiance and she fell in love with the place. Go with your family, friends or partner and have a wonderful time. Parking is a little tricky but nothing we Indians cannot handle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is loosing its charm day by day. We have started feeling that it's no more worth pay so much for the food. We use to feel satisfied of the taste even after waiting for 45 minutes to 1hr, but the taste is not the same what used to serve few years back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spicy and delicious starters. The biryani is served hot and it tastes really good. No food colour has been used.
People visiting to dine be prepared for a crowd wherein you might have to wait for 30 to 45 minutes but it is worth the wait when you receive the food.
People visiting to take a parcel/packed food be prepared for a lengthy queue to stand in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I wish I could rate the place after having food over there. The whole place is a mess in terms of organization.
No token system even with a large queue. Basically you have to go and stand behind someone who is eating their food. People keep looking at you when you are having food so you will need to hurry. Some people keep asking if you are done even before the food has arrived and in the middle of eating. The hotel staff encourage this behaviour by asking you to go stand behind people seated. Made me walk out after five minutes after seeing this.
Even places which are famous with more queue have a token system. This place is not bothered by it and are living by their reputation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want to get first hand experience of how street dogs fight for every piece of meal at a premium price this is the place. luckily if you get a chance to sit n eat next customer will be already waiting behind you to finish and take your seat resulting in hurrying u up. Coming to parcel, food items straight out of the vessel is put in proper cancer causing plastic and it’s readily available for take away(no waiting) if you are so desperate to taste you may give a try else there are so many AC dine-in restaurants with similar / better taste available and they are just a google search away .
