Shivam Colony Shiv Mandir located in Shivam Colony Co Operative Housing Society Ltd. one of the oldest chawl in Thankar Pada area in Kalyan-West. Shivam colony is situated near cities famous and Historic lake Kala Talao (name derived from Masjid named Kali Masjid). People come to this place to relax, enjoy, jog,boat riding and open air gym. There is Balasaheb Thakre Statue and Memorial Museum beside the lake. A beautiful palce to see in Kalyan.
Shivam Colony Shiv Mandir constructed by devotee Late Mr. Kshatriya. After sad demise of Mr. Kshatriya , other residents Mr. Pradeep Gujare and Mr. Bakle takes care and maintenance of temple.
Mr and Mrs. Bandre, with great devotion and dedication helps in maintaining cleanliness of the temple.
Maha Shivaratri a Hindu festival celebrated annually in the temple to honour of the god Shiva. Newly wed couple from Chawl get honour to perform Satynarayan Pooja on this occation.
Various games, competitions organized during the festival. Children to Older People including women took part in games. Bhandara (Mahaprasad) organized by women of the colony who prepare food for Bhandara. Not only present members of Shivam colony but also the families who left colony specially come on Shivratri and took active part in it.
Abhijit & Ajit Sakpal, Ajit & Rahul Mundhe, Rohan & Ajinkya Chavle,Mahesh Shinde, Gavli,Kale,Dhadwad Panchal family and Mahesh Tamboli assists in arrangement of festival.
Year 2019 is the Silver Jubilee year of Temple. Singing,Dance,Musical Chair Competition will be held. This year theme is Ladies will have to wear Nauwari Saree or One piece dress and Men have to wear Kurta payjama or Dhotar.
