भटकंती गधेगळींची?....
कामाच्या व्यापामूळ आज ऊशीराच उठलो. कालच तब्बल दहा वेळा स्थापत्यशास्त्रात अनूत्तीर्ण झालेला परंतु हिम्मत न हारता पोलिस निरीक्षकाची भरती देण्यासाठी आलेला माझा भ्राता *आदित्य पाटील* मूंबापुरीत माझ्या समवेत रहावयास आला होता. त्याच्या आत्येबहिणीचा विवाह सोहळा जवळ आला होता. त्याचसाठी वस्त्रे खरेदी करण्यासाठी आम्ही श्री छत्रपती शिवजी महाराज टर्मिनल जवळ असलेल्या Fashion street ला ठरवलं. पण मी मूद्दाम वाट वळवून चर्नीरोड स्थानकावर उतरलो. तेथून गिरगावातील नवाकाळ पथ येथे असलेल्या पिंपळेश्वर महादेव मंदिर परिसरात पहोचलो.त्याच कारण देखिल तसच होत. तिथ गधेगळ आहे हे काही दिवसांपूर्विच माझ्या वाचनात आलं होत. पिंपळेश्वराच मंदिर मात्र तेथिल इमारतीच बांधकाम होताना संगमरवरी दगडामध्ये जिर्णोध्दारीत करण्यात आले आहे. अशा अपरिचीत ठीकाणी नचूकता पोहचलो मात्र गधेगळ कूठ दिसेना. मग लगेच माझा भटका सखा *राहूल सावंत* याला भ्रमणध्वनी द्वारे आरोळी दिली. त्याने सामूहिकरित्या मूंबई जाणकार भटके *चंदन विचारे* यांना भ्रमणध्वनीशी जोडलं.
त्यांच्या मार्फत असं कळालं की गधेगळ मंदिराच्या मागील बाजूस आहेत.त्यांनी गधेगळीविषयी उत्तमरित्या माहिती दिली.
जर एखाद्याने राजाची आज्ञा मान्य केली नाही, तर त्याच्या कुटुंबातल्या महिलांवर गाढवामार्फत बळजबरी केली जाईल, असा 'धमकीवजा इशारा' कोरलेली ही गधेगळ आहे
मध्ययुगीन काळात महाराष्ट्रात निर्मिलेली मंदिरे, शिलालेख, ताम्रपट, मराठी भाषेतले काही दस्ताऐवज हे त्याकाळच्या इतिहासावरील पडदा उलगडतात. विशेषतः त्याकाळी काळ्या बसॉल्ट खडकातून निर्माण झालेली मंदिरं आणि शिलालेख केवळ त्यांच्या निर्मितीचा इतिहासच सांगत नाहीत, तर तेव्हाची सामाजिक, राजकीय आणि आर्थिक स्थितीही कथन करतात.
यापैकी एक महत्त्वाचा ऐतिहासिक ठेवा म्हणजे 'गधेगळ' हा शिलालेख. दहाव्या शतकात शिलाहार राजांच्या महाराष्ट्रातील राजवटीत निर्माण झालेला हा शिलालेख केवळ एक लिखित पुरावाच नाही तर, राजाच्या आज्ञेची भीती घालणारा आणि त्याकाळातील महिलांचे सामाजिक स्थान दर्शवणारा एक स्तंभही आहे.
मंदिराच्या मागील बाजूस जाऊन प्रतिमा खेचक यंत्राने गधेगळीची क्षणचित्रे काढली. अज्ञानापोटी येथे देखिल लोक गधेगळीची पुजा करतात. दूपारची वेळ असल्याने मंदिर परिसरात निरव शांतता पसरली होती. अधून मधून पक्षांचा मंत्रमूग्ध आवाज कानावर पडत होता. तेथेच थोडा वेळ विश्रांती घेतली आणि पुढच्या प्रवासाला निघालो.
मनीची व्यथाः-जाणकारांच्या मार्फत या गधेगळीचे योग्य ते वाचन करावे.......

I woke up late today due to work. Yesterday, my brother * Aditya Patil *, who had failed in architecture ten times but did not give up, came to stay with me in Mumbai to recruit a police inspector. His cousin's wedding was approaching. We decided to go to Fashion Street near Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal to buy clothes for that. But I turned around and got off at Charney Road station. From there we reached the Pimpaleshwar Mahadev temple area at Nawakal Path in Girgaum. The same reason was happening. A few days ago, I was reading that the date is Gadhegal. Pimpaleshwar temple, however, has been renovated in marble while the building is being constructed there. We reached such an unfamiliar place without fail, but we did not see the donkey. Then I immediately called my wandering friend * Rahul Sawant * via mobile phone. Collectively, he connected Mumbai-based Bhatke * Chandan Vichare * with his mobile phone.
Through him, it was learned that the donkeys are at the back of the temple. He gave excellent information about the donkeys.
If someone disobeys the king, the women in his family will be forced to ride donkeys.
Temples, inscriptions, copperplates, some documents in Marathi language built in Maharashtra during the medieval period unveil the history of that time. Especially the temples and inscriptions made of black basalt rock at that time not only tell the history of their construction, but also the social, political and economic conditions of that time.
One of these important historical monuments is the inscription 'Gadhegal'. The inscription, created during the reign of the Shilahar kings in Maharashtra in the 10th century, is not only a written piece of evidence, but also a pillar of fear of the king's command and of the social status of women at that time.
Going to the back of the temple, the image capture machine took pictures of the donkey. Even here, people worship Gadhegali out of ignorance. As it was noon, there was complete silence in the temple area. From time to time the enchanting voices of the parties could be heard. There we rested for a while and set off on our next journey.
