It is a rip off

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I suggest all tourists avoid buying souviners from any of the shops out side! The prices are highly inflated. Try to bargain as much as possible and buy stuff from shops away from the Taj mahal complex.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yes we were directed to this shop by our guide. However our guide did do a really good job touring the Taj Mahal. We also do understand that the guides get some commission from sales at the various craft shops. That being said we still had a great experience at the shop with the staff. We ended up buying a Octagonal inlaid marble side table which was shipped to USA.
It arrived in pristine condition and was very well wrapped. We asked that the stand not be shipped as I was building one. We choose inlays to represent regions of the world we had traveled. The workmanship and craft is excellent.
You do have to haggle hard but that is not unique to this store or city

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After reading the negative reviews, I was quite concerned whether I would receive the marble table top I had ordered while in Agra. It came - with some delay. The craftsmanship is excellent, and of course you have haggle hard with the sellers. It's just the name of the game - can't blame the seller for that.
So, for my part I'm happy with the end result.
