One of the oldest Kali temples of Kolkata. Said to be set up by a saint and then took up by the Chakraborty and Mukherjee family. Ramakrishna Paramahansa is said to visit the temple daily and offer green cononut (ডাব) and sugar (চিনি) to the Goddess. Siddheswari Kali Mandir is one of the oldest Kali Mandir in Kolkata. Situated in North Kolkata, it has a great historical past. Ma Siddheswari has a very calming presence. In evenings you can visit the temple after 5 pm. The closest Metro Station would be Sovabazar-Sutanuti, from where you can either walk for 15 minutes or if you are lucky you may get a rickshaw, auto or taxi. The temple is at the ground level, so easily accessible even for very old people. Temple seems to be maintained well. Praying Ma Siddheswari blesses everyone with joy and prosperity.

Siddheswari Kali Mandir is an ancient Kali temple located in the Bagbazar / Kumortuli area of Kolkata. In the past this area was covered with forests. Now the river Hughli used to flow in front of the temple. The river has now moved much to the west. Once upon a time in the Himalayas, a monk named Kalibar, who was doing penance, received a dream order that Sati's limb had fallen in the south. We have to find that organ and establish the mother. Walking along the Kalibar river, you come here and see an altar, some flowers and bones lying there. Kalibar thinks this is the place. In fact, it was a haven for robbers. Before committing robbery, the robbers used to sacrifice for the mother. He started austerities by building a hut of Hogla leaves and attained Siddhi. His mother appeared to him in this idol of the temple. Kalivar attains Siddhi. So the mother's name is 'Siddheswari'. His mother told him to go further south to get Sati's organ. He set up the idol in which his mother appeared. The goddess then handed over the idol to two Kapalikas and stayed further south on her mother's orders. Many years have passed since then. Over time, Kapalik and the robbers changed hands and the responsibility of worshiping the mother fell into the hands of the householder. At first the temple was Hogla Patar. The temple was later built by the family of Govinda Mitra of Kumartuli. ⚜ The present temple is a 'building' with a few houses. Balcony in front of the sanctum sanctorum. The car porch in front of him. The temple was last renovated in 2019. The idol of the goddess placed in that temple is earthen. Mother's cosmetics are done once a year. On the left foot of the goddess is the head of the complete Digambar Shweta Mahadev. The goddess is eye-catching. In addition to the poles in the mother's hand, there are two more poles in the temple. A slope is very heavy. Earlier, buffaloes have been sacrificed with this stick. That has to lift him now. And there is a steep very ancient. This steep washing water is given to the fan. It should be noted here that many people believe that no evil force can touch the family if this steep washing water is kept in the house. The water has eroded and become too small to be washed with water. Rumor has it that at one time human sacrifices were offered in front of the goddess. ুর Thakur Ramakrishna used to come to this temple. Once when Keshab Chandra Sen became seriously ill, Thakur Siddheswari made a vow of dab-chini to his mother. Upendranath Mukherjee was the founder of Basumati Sahitya Mandir. He was the benefactor of Thakur Ramakrishna. Thakur told him to swear to Upen Ma Siddheswari. One of your doors will be a hundred doors. That's what happened. Knott and playwright Girish Chandra Ghosh used to come to this temple. He used to compose plays and first touch the draft on his mother's feet and then start rehearsals for plays. He affectionately called her mother 'Ginny of North Calcutta'. In addition to the daily puja, special puja is held in the temple every night of the new moon. Apart from this, mother is worshiped in grand ceremonies in Kali Puja, Ratanti Kali Puja and Falharini Kali Puja. And on the day of the special festival of the mother, in the month of Baishakh, on the full moon of Buddha, the mother's flower is made. The mother is decorated with flowers. Flower ornaments are taught. On that day, the mother's worldly form appeared in the form of flowers. সময়Temple opening time: - 7 am to 12 noon Afternoon - 4pm to 9pm. How to go? From Sealdah, take a 230, 234 or EB1 bus and get off at the Jagat Mukherjee Park junction. After reaching the stop, you can reach Siddheswari Kalibari in Kumortuli by a five minute walk. Address of the Temple: Siddheswari Kalibari of Kumortuli or Bagbazar, Crossing of Rabindra & Madanmohan Tola St, 512, Rabindra Sarani, Kumartuli, Kolkata, West Bengal 700005 The temple is located at 512 Rabindra Sarani near Kumartuli in ancient North Kolkata.
