★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best ground for Cricket players. There are lights for night matches, score board, pavilion. Greenery on the outfield which became easy for fielders, also have hard pitches and with greenish layer. Not need of mat for leather practice. Recommended for professional matches.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had our cricket tournament here.The SCG is the best cricket ground in Australia, the closest thing to Lord’s with its history, charm and exorbitant prices for a glass of Pimms. But it has its own modern identity too as home of the Pink Test in support of the Glenn McGrath Foundation. On Saturday the whole ground will be flooded with pink. It will look like the setting of a Disney princess movie.
There were 44,874 watching the first day’s play, half that of the Boxing Day crowd but just right for a cricket match. The vast MCG is breathtaking when packed to the rafters on Boxing Day, but desolate and sterile when a quarter full by day five.
Sydney is different thanks to its pavilions. It looks like a cricket ground even when there is nobody here. But its status as a cricket venue first and foremost is under threat like never before and was evident on Thursday. This Test is the first match played at the ground this season, apart from one Big Bash game.
It is why there was the unusual sight of a cricket square at a Test match with no bare, old pitches that you would expect when the season is two months old. The outfield was reseeded at the end of the Aussie Rules season, such was the pounding it took in the winter, which forced New South Wales to play their early Shield games at club grounds around Sydney while the grass grew.
