Skylab Colours - Mumbai

I went to take a photo for my visa, passport and a digital copy. They took a very bad picture for digital copy and wanted to charge me for another click. Refused to take an alternate picture and photoshopped the same picture which i anyways did myself. Bad experience. Do not recommend.

Had gone for a professional shoot for work. Not satisfied with with photo taken and since they didn't have any textured or any pattern background, it was photoshopped which looks very bad. Ironically clicked a good phone in potrait mode on my phone with good lush green leaves as background in daylight, and went with that.

They charge 2-5 times the amount to develop a photo. Add to all this after taking scanning charges no soft copy is given. People are rude and unprofessional

Skylab has fallen... I guess, for me atleast. Won't recommend to anyone unless you have an emergency for photographs. Their prices are very costly, their customer service is bad, arrogant and rude. Once you have paid the money, you are not important anymore. you are not given a proper GST Bill or a simple breakup of the amount paid also or a customer invoice, despite having paid 18% GST for using their services. I have been an old and loyal Skylab customer and I have no interest/prejudice to defame them, I just want to share my honest recent experience. For some context, I have been a very old Skylab photo studio custormer, my family knows them since past 40 years, my grand parents and parents, Uncles used to visit Skylab, whenever they needed special photographs. Even I myself always had no hesitation to recommend Skylab till recently. Since my childhood I have always taken Passport Photos from Skylab only. Recently, my family had an urgent need for latest photograph, I having known skylab since my childhood, convinced my parents to visit and use Skylab services. Their infrastructure for photography, such as lights and background is very poor and old fashioned. Their photoshop editing skills are poor, they cannot edit a photo properly such that the shirt color is not lost and only background colour is changed. My grevience is that, I had specific requirements for white background on passport photo which is standard practice and a requirement for all major competitive examinations. They accepted my request. I paid them their charges in advance before the delivery of the photos which took 48 hrs (They claim instant delivery of photographs if you pay double the normal price, but if you arrive in evening, you will have no choice but to wait for 48hrs for the editing and delivery of the finished photographs.) My grevience is a that, when i recieved my passport size photograph, I noticed that as I needed a White background, my shirt which was pink colour is completely not visible. Only my face and the tie that I was wearing is visible. This is really unacceptable, it will not be considered valid photo for Identification, but if you ask them that I need their standard grey background, they refused me and told me they had already deleted the original copy used for editing, and rudely asked me to take another new photograph if I need standard background. Is this customer satisfaction? I have always kept high regard for the name Skylab since my childhood, also I have paid huge sum of money for photos that are next to useless for me. I come from 4 kilometres away from the next suburb just because I trusted Skylab will give me the best experience. Unfortunately I was wong. The photographer has good experience, and Skylab is a renowned name, but what I have experienced recently is that they have no care or concern for customers, if you have paid them you are no longer important to them.

Removing one star from my review as my recent experience was not good. When we went there for a small photo session, the lady at the counter and the photographer weren't very helpful and judged that we will not give them good business. He even bragged that our cameras cost more than a lakh and the photo will be good (felt like take it or leave it attitude). We still went ahead with the shoot and the photos were decent. After we gave them decent business, they were happy and started treating us with respect. All I am saying is to be nice to the customer and answer their queries gently rather than being judgemental about the business they may give you.
