For every nine good clay diyas I got 1 chipped one and of a different design,( twice!), argument being quality and uniformity in design cannot be assured. I would have completely understood this argument if the diyas were packed and sealed in a box( in which case the seller has no idea of the condition of the contents and the buyer has to bear the risk). However in this case, the seller himself chose the diyas individually for me. Does that mean he can't be trusted to select good ones for a customer?( It's not as if he's a hawker out to make a quick buck and vanish). And if one of a pair is a different design and damaged( which makes them unfit to be used as a pair), all the more reason to distrust the judgement of the seller. What was even more painful was the fact that I was considerate enough to buy another 10 diyas from him to compensate the loss( when he replaces it, as I hoped), he had the audacity to give me another damaged one and refused to replace the damaged one from the older set! He never acknowledged that I was NOT COMPELLED to buy from him again because the product isn't a monopoly and I could have purchased from anywhere, yet I did so to help compensate the loss. Sharing this so that others are cautioned that this can happen, so when you buy, don't blindly trust the seller( despite being a regular customer for such a long time).
