★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am an ex-student of AGCS and have a special attachment to the school and its teachers. Though most of the teachers who guided me have retired, yet it remains one of the best in Howrah and Kolkata in terms of infrastructure, personality development, board exam results and overall development of the girl child. Apart from the gate keeper and sweeper, all other staff are of the female gender. I would suggest changing the gate keeper and sweeper to female staff as well since it is a girls' school. Kids from the age of 5 are admitted here and classes are held from KG to X. The school has a small basket ball ground, chapel, auditorium, computer rooms and everything necessary for good grooming of a child.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have studied in this school from nursery to class x and passed ICSE in 1984.at that time it was one of the premiere schools of howrah & kolkata.today i am HOD Gynaec in FORTIS hospital new delhi with several world records to my credit.today during my kolkata trip i had gone to visit my alma mater with my 3 years old twin daughters whom i wanted to see their mother's school.Experience was extremely SOUR to say the least.the gatekeeper refused to open the gate even though knowing i am an old student with designation.on requesting several times to meet the principal he called up someone. After waiting for quiet sometime a lady in shimmering embellished saree came to the gate and introduced herself as the principal's secretary.she categorically told me that principal is extremely busy and cannot meet at all.on telling her i tried calling the principal's office no. multiple times which turned out to be the principal's secretary's no. which always went unanswered.they were really not interested that an ex student who has proudly represented them in the society has come to visit from far off.i really dont know what to say about such a distasteful and unfortunate experience.the secretary said " you know times have changed since you left school".she is so very true.TIMES have really changed....for WORSE.I would leave to the readers of my review what to caption my experience.Sour? PAINFUL? UNFORTUNATE? Its upto you.I am really HURT & CONFUSED.i regret being a part of this school ever.for me this is no longer a convent i fondly remember.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was established in 1880. It's a convent girls school. It's affiliated by Indian Council of Secondary Education. The students are trained to obey rules and code of behaviour. The teachers take sincere care of the students. The faculty members are qualified and genuine supportive in all respect. All the teachers and non-teaching staffs are ladies. The school ambience and infrastructure are good. The school give emphasis on extracurricular activities. The performance of results is highly satisfactory. It's one of the best school in Howrah District.
