Here on the western corner of the Honeymoon Lodge lay buried Myall King', the beloved horse of Colonel Lord William Beresford, Military Secretary to three successive Viceroys-Marquess of Elgin, Dufferin and Lansdowne. The epitaph on the marble tomb over the grave was written by Captain SH Pollen Myall King was bred in Victoria, Australia by Messrs
C & A Findlay. In 1876, A. Findlay imported his
sire King Cole from England. Before he was sent
to India he was sold to John Eales, an eminent
thoroughbred breeder. In India, Myall King won
the following trophies in the races :
