The construction work of this mosque started in the reign of the Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar by Nawab Shah Jahan Begum (1844–1860 and 1868–1901) of Bhopal (Wife of Nawab Syed Siddiq Hasan Khan) and continued to be built by her daughter Sultan Jahan Begum, till her lifetime. The mosque was not completed due to lack of funds, and after a long lay-off after the War of 1857, construction was resumed in 1971 by Allama Mohammad Imran Khan Nadwi Azhari and Maulana Sayed Hashmat Ali Sahab of Bhopal. The construction was completed by 1985 and the entrance (eastern) gate was renovated grandly using ancient motifs from circa 1250 Syrian mosques by the contribution of the Emir of Kuwait to commemorate the memory of his departed wife

I missed this place on my first trip to Bhopal, but made sure to visit the next time! It was 6 in the morning when I noticed the tinkling lights dancing in the lake and I couldn't be more happy by watching this! The mughals really made sure that people had a great architecture to stare at! This place was a perfect kick start for me in the city! I suggest this place to be on the top of your itinerary when in Bhopal!

Largest mosque of Asia. This is a very beautiful mosque. Whoever is in Bhopal, should definitely visit this monument. It has 3 entrance gates, but entry can be made from one gate only. Located on a water body, so cool breeze is always coming.

THE BIGGEST MOSQUE OF INDIA One of the beautiful things that invaders and rulers left for us is beautiful architecture. India has amazingly carved temples, historic churches and beautiful architecture mosques. This is situated near old part of the city and is a huge mosque. Every year tabhligi jamat meeting is also held here in this place. A very photogenic mosque which has beautiful vibes in the evening. Do visit the place for thr architecture and the photogenic views.

Taj-Ul-Masajid, the grandest Mosque in Bhopal, The Grandest Mosque in Madhya Pradesh even you can say the Grandest Mosque in India. This beautiful Masjid stand in the middle or you can say the heart of Bhopal city, the area which this Masjid takes is too huge, around 80000 people can perform Namaz here together. The architecture of Taj Ul Masjid is somewhat like mughal Era, the very interior part of Taj ul Masjid will remind you Jama Masjid of Delhi and Masjid of Fatehpur Sikri. It has 4 gates to enter inside the Mosque premise there is ample space for parking two wheelers and four wheelers and have a canteen which offer snacks at a reasonable price. The Masjid has four pounds calling Hauz one is the biggest Hauz where Namazi do Wazoo and other 3 reserved for children residing in Madarsa for their personal use. If you are in Bhopal or planning to go there your trip will be incomplete if you are not visit this Beautiful and Grandest Taj Ul Masajid.
