★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a story behind the setting up of this club in the late 20s of the last century. And it's interesting I must say.
Apparently the club was started by local Marwari businessman as Indians were not allowed membership to the famous Calcutta Rowing Club.
Now, close to 90 years later, the club is thriving. It of course carries on a few legacies of the conservative past. For example, the club is still a pure vegetarian place and of course there are no drinks served.
But on the facilities front there are no compromises.
They have one of best badminton courts of Kolkata. There is provision for Billiards, Squash, Table Tennis and Swimming.
They have two pools out of which the smaller one is heated.
The Rowing facilities are the best and it's swarming with rowers on weekends.
The club is one of the first to be green certified in India.

Best time to be here is evening.Take a seat by the lawn and enjoy the lake view with some snacks.A vegan place.They serve some delicious range of desserts.And yeah it's only for members and guests.

One of the Best club in Kolkata for rowers and vegetarian people for meals.food quality and quantity served at such a cheap price .
Food quality is quite good.the staff are polite and humble.
You can reserve hall or lawn for wedding, reception, birthday party and many more things with serving excellent variety of vegetarian food with a wide variety of chats of south Indians, Chinese, snacks and no bar or alcoholic drinks served.
They have also indoor playing arena with games like billiards, tennis,squash, gym and also have a good size heated swimming pool.
When you sit with your friends and family on the lake side ground you will fully enjoyed the food with fresh air and beautiful scenario of rabindra sarobar lake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yesterday only attended a marriage ceremony with my office mates. The ambience was absolutely stunning with the lake looking beautiful at the backside. Highly recommended for hosting a get together or party as it has much space both inside the lounge and open air.
