★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT COME HERE TO LEARN VIOLIN. I don't know how good or bad they teach the other stuff, but i've had empirical first-hand evidence of how awful the violin teaching here is. Firstly, they charge exorbitant amounts of money for the "classes" & then teach you nothing or rubbish incorrect stuff in return. I had the misfortune of being assigned a fraud for a teacher that didn't even attempt to correct my bowing for 6 months till I brought it up! Even then he didn't correct my bow hold or how much pressure I was applying & worst of all he never showed me how how to hold the violin. So, soon I realized everything I thought I'd learnt from the first day to last, was wrong & this guy was stealing my money & time. Now it's been a while since I left & all i can say is good riddance! The name of the fraudster btw was Ranjan Ghosh. Don't let this guy scam you of your money & time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am told that they have a great range of teachers and I personally enjoy my classes. But God help the system. It's a nightmare to sign up for a class, pay fees or do anything in this space. I had to visit the place thrice to sign up... The payment portal is the most unfriendly and they find extremely bizarre ways to make life difficult as a user. So when people tell you, you have come back in time in Kolkata or you feel like you are in the British age, they sure must have visited CSM!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is frequently visited one by many aspiring artists and budding talents. They provide one to one teacher student ratio and most of the sections have excellent teaching staff. The provide both classical and modern contemporary courses. They have Indian as well as western music sections. The class rooms are clean and well equipped and maintained. Fees can be paid online. Parking slots are available and the place is very located at the heart of the city. They have annual concerts and functions. Prize distribution ceremony is also organised every year. Classes run through out the year but is closed during the week of Christmas holidays and Puja days national holiday and also classes remain suspended during the summer. The institution is an excellent one for nurturing the budding talents. It is a wonderful place to visit and they have meditation classes also once in a while to improve concentration and performance.
