I am writing this review after almost 1 full year of having sent my son to this school. Prima facie the place gives you a very good feeling, because of the peaceful locality, well designed sound proof rooms, quality equipment and probably because it's reputation that it is Delhi's one of the oldest western music schools. However it is definitely not being managed professionally. My son's music teacher takes an off at wanton and the school does not inform officially. Make up classes are not made up until reminded and requested. Curriculum followed is not informed and no clarity on pupil's progress and certification roadmap is shared. The school even charges even for winter and summer vacation periods even when there are no classes. I guess made a mistake in having made my son join this so called institution.

I have been learning in Delhi school of music for the past 5 years. My experience till now has been really amazing. My teacher is Mr.Noel Malekar who's a very enthusiastic teacher. He has a very different approach towards teaching in which he focusses more on drum playing and it's nuances rather than studying the exam based drum curriculum. He also provided me different books of different music genres to enrich my music vocabulary, which helped me a lot!

Probably he best Western classical music school in India. Professors are genius and researchers as well. Ambience is very serious and you're most likely to find music genius students here. School/Society has a huge garden with lots of trees and beautiful fresh grass. The garden complements the concert hall with great view from inside. Classes consists of 45 minutes (Private). School staff is great , very friendly and helpful. Especially Mr. Ram Murat Ji. Schools organises concerts for students quarterly and some major concerts occasionally and School has its own monthly journal.

Good place to learn music. The Delhi Music Society (DMS) is a voluntary, non-profit organisation devoted to the dissemination and enjoyment of music, especially western classical music. It was registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860-Regd. No. S-690 of 1953-54, with the primary objectives described below: to promote and encourage music and dance, to arrange concerts and recitals by visiting and local artistes, and to collaborate with other similar cultural organisations to encourage and develop among the musically inclined, an appreciation and understanding of western classical music. Over the years, many eminent persons have been associated with the Society as office bearers and active members. They include Rakjumari Amrit Kaur, Mrs Indira Gandhi, Dr. Narayana Menon, Dr. Karan Singh, Mrs. Pushpa Hidayatullah and Sardar Amarjit Singh, among others. The Society collaborates with institutions like the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the Indian International Centre, and cultural divisions/organisations of various foreign missions. It also on occasions, sponsors and presents its own concerts. By networking with music societies in Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Calcutta and Bangalore, the Society sometimes arranges all-India tours for visiting artistes. Many internationally reputed performers from all over the world have been presented by the Society over the last five and a half decades. These have included in the early years, leading orchestras under the baton of Sir Malcolm Sargent, Herbert von Karajan, Istvan Kertesz and Zubin Mehta, just to name a few. Distinguished pianists like Wilhelm Kempff, Rudolf Serkin, Claudio Arrau, Paul Badura-Skoda and Ruth Slenczynska, violinists like Yehudi Menuhin, Isaac Stern, Igor Oistrakh and more recently Alberto Lysy, cellists Janos Starker and Mstislav Rostropovich, and vocalists Mahalia Jackson, Marian Anderson and Elly Ameling are among those who have delighted Delhi audiences thanks to the efforts of the society. The Society has also presented several chamber ensembles and smaller orchestras. These include the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra, the London Schubert Players, the Kirov Orchestra, the Salzburg Mozart Players and the Musica Antiqua Roma and choirs like that of the Collegium Musicuum of Bremen, the Dresdener Kammerchor and the Ensemble Vocal du Brabant Wallon of Belgium. Increasingly the Society is trying to lay accent on performances by local artististes. The Society celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2003-04 with a series of special concerts including:

Was an individual vocal student in this "esteemed" school, from which I had very high hopes. Had a very disappointing experience by the end because their incompetent staff (mine was Kabuki Khanna), who just care more about making money and being extremely unaccomodative to the students in need by always quoting their unreasonable school policies, which get only flexible with their personal needs. Giving two stars because they did manage to teach something in the past 7-8 months.

My sister and I have been learning Piano from here. We are currently doing Grade 5 and till now our experience has been really great. Teachers are very kind and explain everything patiently and in detail. One thing which we encountered is their pricing is little bit high and they increase their prices every 4 years. For more 1 year, we have been taking online classes but they still charge the same amount of money even though we are using our own Instruments. So, the only drawback is their pricing, rest is all good for learning Music.
