Have been eyeing this place for quite sometime now - finally managed to drop in a couple of days ago & was floored beyond expectation to say the least - talking about the first #Pie based cafe in town - The Pie House ? Nice & quirky interiors with an all yellow lighting plus some beautiful & intricate art work greets you once you step inside the cafe - all sanitization protocols are in place & the menu is digitised via qr code as per the current standard practice of #newnormal ? One is spoilt for choices once you scan that elaborate menu in terms of the wide array of pie delicacies on offer but what attracted my attention instantly was #LitchiCoffee - yes you read that right - probably the only place in Kolkata that sells this unique coffee - a wonderful combo of litchi & cold coffee on the rocks - should appeal to any litchi lover ❤️ I also opted for #CashelPie - a delicacy famous in #Ireland generally made with beef but they have made it with #Bacon & #LambMince served with a puff pastry & loads of mashed potato - an delicious & filling meal indeed ❤️ The real deal for me was the dessert though - #BananaPie - not much of a banana lover but this one stole my heart away - the combo of banana and Nutella was sheer #chocogasm ❤️ Lovely meeting you in person finally dear #Purbali & catching up with you #Anirban is always a pleasure - thank you for the gracious hospitality - what awesome #adda we had guys - didn't feel like the first meeting at all - can't wait to be back again at the soonest possible ❤️ My humble two cents: #MUSTTRY (if you haven't already) ? #SupportHospitalityIndustry ? #LifeofaFoodnTravelBlogger ? Journey of an Epicurean Cine Trotter continues.. ? Thank you all for being a part of our Facebook family - Kolkata Food Trotters ❤️

Discovered this quaint cafe near Golf Green bus stand, a popular South Kolkata neighbourhood through Facebook and was impressed on the very first visit. They maintained Covid protocols including placing order by scanning the QR Code and bill payment being contactless. The Irish meat pie was simply delicious and complemented well by the Barbeque wings! My friend and I visited a second time in January when they hosted a Pie Fest and also won a Free Beverage! We enjoyed the other beverages ordered on both days. The seating is limited because space is less. Pre-booking can be opted if one does not want to miss out on eating the savoury pies!

Kolkata has been a shelter for European cookery for decades now, but it was hard to find a cafe or restaurant dedicated for serving pies. The worries have come to an end now with opening up of a cafe called Pie House, which is mainly dedicated to enhance the Pie culture in Kolkata. The Pie House is an unique cafe in Kolkata serving sweet & savoury pies & Italian food. What is Pie? A Pie is a baked dish which is usually made of a pastry dough casing that contains a filling of various sweet or savoury ingredients. Sweet pies may be filled with fruit and Savoury pies may be filled with meat, eggs and cheese or a mixture of meat and vegetables. Ancient Greeks are believed to have originated pie pastry. The Romans made a plain pastry of flour, oil, and water to cover meats and fowls which were baked, thus keeping in the juices. Pies remained as a staple of traveling and working peoples in the colder northern European countries, with regional variations based on both the locally grown and available meats, as well as the locally farmed cereal crop. The Pies evolved with time and were available in variety of savoury and sweet pies. Coming back to Pie House, it is located in Golf Green area, the exact address reads as — 8/7 Bijoygarh, Golf Green, Kolkata — 700032. Its a small, cosy cafe with doodle art painting done on one of the walls, artificial plant decor along with food quotes frames. They provide a seating of approx 8-10 people. The pies we tried out — ?Yorkshire Fettle Pie Roast Chicken (₹349/-) ?Irish Cashel Blue Bacon and Lamb (599/-) ?Britain Cottage Pie (₹599/-) ?TPH Scotch Pie (₹399/-) ?Hungarian Chicken Pie (₹329/-) We also tried out their ☕ Coffee — Cappuccino (₹149/-) ? Mocktails — Spicy Green Apple (₹169/-), Blue Island (₹189/-) All the dishes were mouth-watering delicious in taste. The items are priced at very reasonable rates considering both the quality and quantity of food. If you are looking for trying out some amazing pies, then you must give this place a try.

Purbali and his absconding chef Anirban made some amazing pies! But I was absolutely floored by this TPH Scotch Pie and the Banana Pie (I got 0.02% of it from Simba though)! Keep it up! People... just don’t miss this amazing The Pie House recipes and along with that you will get great coffee at ₹99.
