Great peaceful place..very much greenery is maintained. It is a government approved institute which is here since a century. Young and old crowd are usually seen. You need to register and have a medical test to join the course. It is then followed by a counselling session and introduction. Fees is low Book store is available

Everyone must attend atleast 7 full-day yoga course here.. full of positivity, energy, vibrant yet calm atmosphere, lots of greenery, rare trees such as cannon (kailash ), a place which truly represents a heaven in mumbai.

We'll there's yoga as business, yoga as an physical exercise and yoga as a spirituality. I think this is a good example of what happens when people who work in an organisation don't actually practice yoga or do satsang, i was thinking about doing a YTT course there but was immediately put off by a few things. Just because Narendra Modi has a museum in his name there and has given the place some title means absolutely nothing in terms of yoga and is odd that it is seen as some kind of grand achievement. The brief interaction I had with one lady associated with the fromt office was a bit srange-had to wait almost an hour to have a five minute conversation, in which she was rude and didn't seem to be interested. The public boards are empty and security guards were all tense and everywhere like they are looking for a bomb. The class I saw lacked depth and way to basic even for a hatha beginners class, ironically the parampara came down from a monk, but sadly enough the 'smrti' isn't there anymore, hence this place would fall into the category of yoga being more an external thing, 'yoga deha maya jinati.'

Very lucky to meet Shri Yogendraji and Mother Sita Devi in 1973! I'm blessed to learn Yoga under the guidance of Mother Sita Devi and Dr. Jaydev Ji!

For peace of mind and quality self-improvement, this place works wonders. An hour a day for four days in a week is a look forward to for calming anxious beings. The complete focus is on inner awareness which helps in living day-to-day in a more holistic way.

This is the oldest (103 years) and one of the best yoga institute in the India. They offer various yoga programs and teacher training programs for the people who are keen to pursue yoga practice. The place has an amazing vibe and energy which can be experienced once you step into the institute. If anyone is planning to start practicing yoga or become a yoga teacher. This is the best institute to start your Yoga journey. Special mention for (ever smiling) Poonam Ji, who will be the first person you will meet, when you are at the Yoga Institute reception.
