This being the tallest peak in the pune district it's really a thrilling experience to climb this fort. The trek is really nice, a bit challenging at some parts but that's all part of the fun of trekking. People who just want to visit the fort to explore tho, can't, because there is no way to get to the top without trekking up. That being said, plenty of places on the trail to stop and have a breather and some lemonade. The trek should take about an hour for experienced people and about 2 hours for the novice. You get some stunning views of the pune district from the top and from the buruj of the macchi. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in trekking or history.

Torana fort is also known as Prachandgad, is a large fort located in pune. From this fort we are able to see sinhgad, raigad and also khadakwasala dam. It is was the first fort captured by Shivaji Maharaj in 1646, at the age of 16. One can go from Pune via Satara road and take right at Nasarapur village. This distance is near about 65 -70km. This is moderate trek.

At 4603 m above sea level, it's the highest hill fort. Also known as Prachandgad due to its vast expanse. Torna fort was the first fort won by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as he started building Swarajya. Zunjhar Machi, Budhla Machi are worth seeing. Fort area is generally clean, so please do not throw litter / garbage. Terk difficulty level is medium to high. Some points are accessible only to fit persons. There are railings/ladders/ropes in some sections. Food options at the top and trek route are very limited. So take some stuff to eat and lots of water with you. Best time to start trek is just before sunrise otherwise it will become tiring when sun rises and route becomes crowded.

Kille Torna- This fort is a must place to visit for all the trekkers out there to get an amazing trekking experience. I would rate the trekking difficulty as medium. This was the first ever fort to be captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and thus of great historical importance. How to Reach: It takes about 1.5-2 hours from Pune to reach at the base of the fort. Unlike Sinhagad there is vehicle accessible road till the top. The vehicles are to be parked near the base which has large parking area. The entry fee was 33 Rupees for Car. Trekking: Starting from the base it takes upto 1.5-2 hrs to reach the top. Lemonade and Bisleri bottles are available at 2-3 spots in between the trek. There are some difficult patches in the trek for which railings are there for support. On the route to the top there are some spots with amazing view and fresh air. What to see: 1. Zunjar Machi 2.Budhala Machi 3. Mengai Devi mandir 4. Viewpoints to see Rajgadh, Sinhagad, Lingana and Raigad The food supply at the top is very scarce so please make sure to carry food with you. Although Lemonades and packed water bottles are readily available.

Nice place for trekking. Difficult fort compare other fort... No staircase are available... It will take around 1 to 2hrs to go up.. Once you go up from there to Zunjar machi end is really difficult and dangerous.. 1. Those are new and having fear in mind can avoid to Zunjar machi end.. 2. Take plenty of water while going... In case of need you will get fresh water at water reservoir on fort... not sure if it's available in summer season.. 3. Take food or snacks while going as no other source is available to eat.. 4. Prefer to go with group of people.. 5. Parking is available at bottom... 6. It's 60km from Pune by Nasrapur way.. 7. Rajgad and Torna having 10km distance

For me this was a bit hard trek. It had a few places where slight wrong foot placement and you are gone? But once you reach at the top you feel like patting you back. The view is good. Once you reach to the top you are able to see singhagad and rajgad. I would recommend going there in winter season as rainy would be difficult and summer is no no for me.

Torna fort is located around 2 hour from Pune city. Torna fort trek is medium level difficulty trek and it takes around 2 - 2.5 walking hours to reach the fort from parking area. Around 200 m distance is bit difficult but rest is normal walking. I suggest to vist here with a group so that you can enjoy the time while trekking.
