★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a decade I visited the place, nothing has changed in terms of quality of food, service quality and ambience. Awesome selection of Kerala food as usual. Hospitality at it's peek and quality of Kerala food awesome and cheaper than most of the places. Kudos to the team. Try authentic Kerala dishes , they are really good at it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Udaya is a regular in my family. Done in, take out and delivery. For this specific type of keralite food, this is our go to. The ishtu with aapam is a standard. Food is excellent, ambience is ok, service rocks.
Udaya lunch home is an old establishment in Chembur and in the past was the go to restaurant for a quick affordable thali. Today, you still have the same awesome thalis, but they are a tad bit expensive. However I would certainly recommend the food here. Mutton sukha roast or chiken sukha roast with Malabar Paratha, ishtu with aapam, fish moilee, payasam these are some of my favourites.
The place may be a little difficult to find since it is inside a narrow lane between shops. One must first cross the busy station junction. Then acrobat themselves through the 2 wheelers parked infront of the pavement. Then cross the pavement itself which seems to be the target of some war that i have no knowledge off. Ofcourse once you passed through these trials, Udaya looms before you like an oasis. (AC section please). The waiters give quick attention, but the food does take some time to arrive. (Take a boardgame with you or maybe a quick round of pictionary). According to me the more people you go with, the more you can try out the yummies at udaya.

We visited to have taste of some kerala food.
The mutton curry had too few pieces. Though the kerala food is known for being cooked in coconut but it was not grated properly. Also we ordered goan fish curry after confirming from the waiter that it would be spicy. But to our dismay it wasnt spicy.
The malabar parota was good.

Chicken chettinaad nada chicken excellent fish fry surmai pomfret etc. Chinese akso good.
Payyasum sweet kheer with jaggri mmmmm pure kerala.

1. Surmai Curry - 5 stars - Perfect play of spices.
2. Shell fish curry - 5 stars - Rich in flavour.
3. Appam - 5 stars - Soft, fresh & Porus
4. Fry Bombil - 5 stars - Crispy and soft.
5. Payasam - 5 stars - Balanced in sweetness, loaded with dryfruits. An ideal end to your meal!
Value for money restaurant.
Must visit on your next trip to Chembur Station.
