★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well managed place once you enters in . While you have to wait on street before entering. Do Not come more than 1 hrs earlier than your appointment. Mobiles and other electronic items bags not allowed inside either bring someone with you or keep at hotel.If coming with somebody bring water bottle and some snacks as there is ni eatery nearby. Carry umbrella in summer and rainy season as no proper standing place available here

I had brought my 77 year old mother who had recently suffered an injury resulting in 4 broken ribs to a returning resident visa interview. Prior to the interview I had exchanged emails multiple times with the consulate confirming that she could get a wheel chair and I could accompany her inside. I am a US citizen and I had made this very clear in my communications with the consulate.
When we reached the consulate the VFS staff stopped me from going in because I am an American citizen. They told me American citizens cannot accompany. This is despite me telling them multiple times about the email communication with the consulate. They asked me to show the emails but unfortunately since phone was not allowed I did not have my phone handy to share the information.
So the next thing I told them is that my mother cannot walk and needs mobility assistance and the VFS person said since you cannot go inside there is no one else to push the wheel chair. So my mother who is a senior citizen with a disability in being able to walk had to go alone with absolutely no wheel chair assistance.
I think the VfS guys who manage the security should be fired for lack of empathy. An absolute disgrace to humanity as well as to the United States of America.
I was also told all aged senior citizens who were waiting inside for a long time did not even have approachable access to drinking water. When my mother repeatedly asked for water they asked her to walk a long distance for a person who is already mobility challenged. Many of these folks are diabetics who have come there at a godforsaken time around 7:30 am in the morning without eating anything. There was also no facilities inside for refreshments. I am appalled by the level of treatment being handed to aged people like this. An absolute disgrace.

They have eyes on you with hidden cameras and for transportation
Better to use OLA if you are coming from out of state .
There should be toilet outside atleast 1km away and proper sitting arrangements or waiting hall otherwise we look like beggers standing on street with great rush!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Read reviews about the VISA, Collection and Drop Centre and seen photos of people gathering in the street outside the gate. In the instructions, it was mentioned that for security reasons only the person whose VISA is concerned will be admitted in the premises.
In the reviews people had written that mobiles and metallic things are not allowed inside. You have to either keep your mobile outside with your friend or keep it with police outside by paying 30 Rs. rent.
Idiots. Reading all that I kept my mobile at home, carried a cloth bag. On the other hand, all staff, including security, were Maharashtrians and very co-operative. And yo ucan carry your mobile phone but cannot use in the premises. It was swiftly managed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So I had to visit the Dosti House. And when I put US consulate as my location,it took me to the next lane.
And I had to walk back. Anyway, the place is very strict about it's security and always carry a photo identification card to enter the premises. No photography allowed whatsoever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited last week with my wife and 2 and half year old daughter. We reached 830 AM for 9 AM appointment and were asked to join line outside the building. Once we entered the compound, staff asked us to go inside the building and were assigned a window directly because of minor in the group, that is very thoughtful.
You are not allowed to carry mobiles or other electronics. Water bottle and traditional watches are allowed.
