This place is famous Because of the vidyapati dham temple situated over there. Which is connected with Lord Shiva and Mathili Kavi Vidyapati ji. The number of devotees comes to prayer is crosses the line of 10 lakhs, that's why a fair(मेला) is organised here every year in the month of Savan.
