โ โ โ โ โ Took a dinner cruise with the family. Upon reaching, we realized it was just the 3 of us who were booked at the slot. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that they operated despite there not being many reservations. Turned out to be a private experience! Food was decent. The variety and quantity offered was sufficient. The service was good. Now we didn't go for the food, but the experience, and that was excellent. For Rs 1500+taxes, this was extremely value for money! Highly recommended for a leisurely evening.

โ โ โ โ โ Kolkata being at the bank of Hooghly there should have been more cruise options like Goa. Whereas we only have the Govt sponsored one and this privately owned Vivada Cruise. Although being sole player, they are still maintaining good standard.
The jetty is inside Millenium Park just beside Bengal Govt jetty. You will immediately notice the difference in crowd.
We booked เฆ
เฆนเฆฒเงเฆฏเฆพ evening cruise, which is the most ethnic & unique looking barge in the whole Ganges fleet. In my personal opinion, the evening (high tea) slot is the best one to avail. As you will get essence of both day & night in this slot and the sunset view is an added bonus. The exterior & interior decor of the barge is beautiful. Gives you the เฆฎเงเงเฆฐเฆชเฆเงเฆเง vibe. This one was originally called เฆฎเงเฆธเงเฆฏเฆเฆจเงเฆฏเฆพ, if you look at the images, you will understand why. The beautiful view of Ganges is well known, so I don't have to stretch on that. But this cruise having so less crowd (even on 1st January) will give you ample opportunity to capture those perfect pictures.
The menu is mentioned on the website. The food quality is good and you will get ample amount of every item.
My suggestion, Some events on board could have kept the journey lively.
All in all, this is a good enough experience.

โ โ โ โ โ A beautiful cruise through the serene artery of the bustling Kolkata-Howrah twin cities. The vessel was clean, the staff very courteous and the food indulgent. Would recommend.

โ โ โ โ โ The sunset cruise was wonderful! The cruise started on time, the staff were very polite, knowledgeable and courteous. The food was delicious and there was so much variety. They maintained proper hygiene and the washroom was spotless clean. But most importantly, viewing the famous historical sights of Kolkata from the Ganga was an experience of a lifetime.
Watching the sun setting and creating beautiful ripples, and then the illumination in the darkness - it was all mesmerising!
Definitely a must-do when in Kolkata.

โ โ โ โ โ We took the lunch cruise. We started from Millennium Jetty, gently making our way past Belur Math, under Bally Bridge, then turned around right about Dakshineshwar Temple. This took about 2 hours, with a constant supply of hot, mostly fried, hors d'oeuvres. We were on the upper deck during this period.
The rest of the trip was lunch inside the enclosed lunch area in the main deck. The trip back took less time. We were back where we started right about the 3 hour mark.
Wish there was a little more commentary on what we were looking at along the way. There were a few pointers of major attractions, but without explanations, significance, history. I know there's always Wikipedia, but given the great effort they are putting into the experience this seems like an easy win.

โ โ โ โ โ Situated right opposite Shipping Corporation office and right near Millenium park, the Vivada cruise offers daily cruises and package cruises. We took an afternoon cruise up and down the Hooghly. Prices are Rs. 1050 (including GST). The cruise has two decks (upper and lower). We chose to be on the upper deck as there were few groups of people and all were spread out on the upper deck. It started off beautifully with nice music and a smooth ride across the river. The guide briefed us about some of the landmarks ghats and interesting buildings as we crossed them. Passing below the Howrah Bridge and gliding by the Belur Math and Dakshineswar Temple were some of the highlights of the trip. The entire trip lasted about 3 hours (4pm -7pm) and there was ample supply of sandwiches, veg and non veg starters, tea, coffee and cold drinks all throughout. Overall, worth the money for an afternoon well spent.
