Very good ? I am graduated from this college. I love ? the environment. In the middle of the college a big playground is there . In winter it's looks stunning. The teachers are very frankly and supportive. But some of the office stuff are very short tempered. Overall it's between covid situation I experienced 1and half years college life . It's always memorable for me ❤️.

This is a large college of Burdwan University. This college is located in Barddhaman town near Vivekananda College More. This is the only college that has underground hall room in Barddhaman town. This college is very pleasant and near to the main road. There is only a Girls' Hostel in this college. Education quality is very good in this college.

It is a Government College Under Burdwan University. On the eve of Swami Vivekananda's Birthday Centenary in 1963, the District Magistrate of Burdwan Mr. K.P.S. Menon, Chairman of Zila Parishad, Mr. Narayan Chowdhury and other honourable citizens of Burdwan took initiatives to establish a new college in Burdwan town. Burdwan Municipality gifted a large chunk of land in the name of the proposed college in Sarshe Danga Mouza, Near Sadarghat. Mr. Prafulla Chandra Sen, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, laid the foundation stone for the proposed Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya at the spot on 8th March, 1964, on 23rd trate Mr. K.P.S. Menon, as President Dr. Sailendranath Mukhopadhyaya, the renewed Physician, as the Vice President, and Chief Engineer of Burdwan Zila Parisad. Mr. Prafulla Kumar Pal, was appointed the secretary to the committee. Meantime a number of illustrious educationists came forward to raise a found of nearly two lakh rupees for the college. Set in peaceful surrounding away from the hubbub of the town, the college officers and ideal atmosphere for pursuing higher studies in the major arts and science subjects.In 1964 the college was accorded the govt. affiliation as Govt. Sponsored College. On 26th August 1964, the college was inaugurated formally. The Chief guest of the inauguration ceremony was the then Director of Education, Govt. of West Bengal, Dr. Dhirendra Mohan Sen. The Governing Body, the Teachers, the Non-Teaching Staff and the Student work in tandem to build up an ideal environment in the field of higher study and research. Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya is not just one of the many colleges, its stands aloft and apart in glory in its academic achievements through its very successful student placed in responsible position in society and in various fields of activity today. The Central Library was opened and started its functions from the year 1966 as “Jaladbarani Pathagar” in the Seminar Hall of the main building. It was set up by the donation of Hon’ble Surgeon, Dr. Sailen Banerjee. Presently the library is on the first floor of the newly built three storied building of the college. It is well cleaned, decorated and documented. According to me the best college of Burdwan. There is no problem in anything. Study, sports, and cultural programs are held in a quiet environment.
