★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The basic objective of the WB Milk Federation is to build a bridge between masses of rural milk producers and millions of urban consumers. It has a Board of Directors with Chairpersons of the Milk Unions, Govt. nominees and others on it.
It aims at providing assured and remunerative market for the milk produced by rural households and building village level institution in co-operative sector to manage the dairy activities.It also provides support so as to ensure provision of milk production inputs, processing facilities and dissemination of know how.
All this helps eliminate middlemen and organise institutions to be owned and managed by the milk producers themselves.
