The station is on the Howrah–Delhi main line. It is the 8th busiest railway station in India in terms of frequency of trains after Kanpur Central, Vijayawada Junction, Delhi Junction, New Delhi, Ambala Cant, Howrah and Patna Junction.Around 171 trains pass through the station daily. It serves Asansol and the surrounding areas.

Asansol junction station well know place,station for most trains stoppage.easily trains are available from howrah -bandel line and from sealdah as well . easily street foods are also available and at the station. Be careful while traveling,don't try to be very smart always travel with proper tickets.very neat and clean station , railway staffs are very grateful. Don't forget to bargain while taking rickshaw, auto or taxi from station,keep your lauguages with you carefully.thnkyou.

Station is clean.parking space for vehicles. Lot of space for walking for passengers.separate tickets counter for local and reservation.Sbi ATM is there.Restaurant on wheels is the special attraction here.

One of the oldest Railway station(Jn) in india estd. In 1885. The Junction has multiple platforms and has nice waiting rooms, Premium Lounge. The station is clean and well maintained.

Bardhaman–Asansol section and Asansol–Patna section of Howrah–Delhi main line, Asansol–Gaya section of Grand Chord and Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line, Asansol–Adra-Tatanagar–Kharagpur line All type of trains stops here. There are total 7 platforms and always busy schedule of trains and many people waiting for their trains.Platform have many type of shop for breakfast, lunch,dinner.it also contains two elevator on both side and also have ramp for common. Asansol junction has two UT(Unreserved Ticket) booking center on the both side,one is at front site which is Very Big and likely have 5-6 counters but the back side booking center have only 2 counter and there is no service of booking reserved tickets. This service only available at front side ticket counter. This junction has motor cycle stand on both sides but back station there are two stands and boths are very big...likely(not sure because there is written that cycle-2rs and bike-5rs?) 5rs for cycle and 10rs for bikes for first 6 hours. Also have taxi and auto stand if you need taxi or auto you can get whenever you want.Also this place contant(obviously exit of the station) a bus station called "Asansol Railway Bus Station". ? ?........

Nice & Clean station in West Bengal. It’s well decorated from outer and is a major junction and majority of the trains stop here. Cleanliness is top notch .
