Bachchon ka Ghar is an orphanage founded by Masih-ul-Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan Saheb about 129 years ago. Hakim Ajmal Khan was a great nationalist, freedom fighter, philanthropist, pioneer of communal harmony and above all a great human being. Hakim Ajmal Khan Saheb throughout his life strived for the well being and upliftment of orphan children. Subsequently the mission of Hakim Saheb was taken forward by Dr. Zakir Hussain Khan, President of India, who acted as Chairman of Bachchon ka Ghar. Dr. Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed, President of India and his wife Begum Abida Ahmed, MP, also patronized Bachchon ka Ghar. People’s President Dr. APJ Kalam had a soft corner for orphan children and on many occasion invited orphan children to Rashtrapati Bhawan. Smt. Pratibha Patil, President of India, also invited orphan girl inmates of Bachchon ka Ghar to Rashtrapati Bhawan and also made donation from her personal account. Over the years Bachchon ka Ghar had got patronage and kind help from people of all walks of life. Bachchon ka Ghar has an unblemished record of 129 years towards service of humanity. Children are the builders of the future of any nation and therefore they have always been taken care of by civil society in time of need. If timely help is not extended towards them these little buds are likely to fade or perish in the vast of sea of humanity.
