★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On 25th April 2019, Thursday my father wrote a cheque amounting to INR 22,000. The cheque was given to a carpenter who had gone to the nearest Vijaya Bank in Mira Road (please find the location in the link below). When the carpenter went to encash it, he was told that my father had to come to encash it. I hope your bank understands what a cheque is or should i explain it. My father is 64 years old and its difficult for him to travel. When the cashier told that my father had to come to cash it my father arrived in 5 minutes. She refused to talk on phone.Then the security person and the cashier said that its 1: 30 pm and cannot cash it, hence my father has to come the next day. Assume that if it was her father, will she do the same thing.
Your bank needs to understand that in some cases rules can be bent, Such act cannot develop our economy at any cost. The irony is we cant withdraw our hard earned money. I guess you understand that the bank pays salaries based on the deposits made. The lady in the counter did not show any courtesy. She did not even give her name too.
I am half my mind changing the bank itself. I work with a company and talk to bank managers and know how bank works. I will never tolerate this uncultured act. I will appreciate if anyone holds accountable for this and respond me at the earliest. Its funny that we cannot encash our money. I have seen your grievance portal and after seeing that a lot of information is asked while you are the ones that are not standardized I feel this review should do the job.
