Surprisingly a cooler place to sit for a while if you are near the CST or Victoria Terminus, and are tired. Green and cool. Lots of benches to sit and have a quick rest.

Bhatia Udyan is situated just near to CSMT. The udyan contents big statues of Sir Dinshaw Nanaekji and other dignitaries who were the sculpturers Mumbai. The udyan has one old Tram with the capacity of 16 seats in the remembrance of old transport era. The udyan also act as small air purifier in the busy traffic junction.

This huge garden situated just near to CSMT Mumbai Suburban train stn.It contents big statues of Sir Dinshaw Nanaekji Petit, the 1st Baronet and other dignitaries from the sculpturers of Modern Mumbai. Thus garden has not a facility of Toilets and Drinking water. This garden is now getting a new attraction. One big rake of old Tram with the capacity of 16 seats, brought from Kolkata 28 years ago in 1993 to Mumbai by the then GM of BEST.It was kept in the Aanik Best Depot. Then it was moved to Cuffe Parade area. The same tram rake was restorated by the BMC in a workshop in Rabale,Navi Mumbai with the cost of Rs.30 lakhs in 2019 and kept in this udyan since last one year.It was the pride of Mumbaikar's once upon a time in Mumbai.First Tram service was started in British era with the help of Horses and Bulls to haul in the then capital of British India,Calcutta, now,Kolkata. Then came electric tram after the establishment of 'The Bombay Tramway Co. Ltd. On 9th May 1874, one tram company started to operate tram service with the help of one and two horses to haul. This tram in Bombay runs on the routes of Colaba to Pydhuni, now a days Metro Cinema Chowk, and on another route of Boribunder, now a days CSMT Mumbai to Pydhuni. The Mumbai Municipal established 'The Bombay Electric and Tramways' in 1905. In 1907,the Electric Tram service was started. In 1920,Double decker tram service was started. But due to loss in revenue it was decided to shut down the tram services from 1953.The last Tram service was run between Boribunder to Dadar TT. This furnished Tram rake will remind all Mumbaikar's the old world era of tram service. The same was supposed to be opened for public in 2020, but due to Corona lockdown in Mumbai, it was not possible. The track of the tram got damaged by the heavy rains. It was again scheduled to opened on March,2019 and also on 28th Jan.this year.,but it could not happened. Now the inauguration function was held on 25th Feb. 2021 by the state govt in the presence of the Mayor ofvMumbai,Dy.Mayor,Local Corporator and Civic staff. The tram is kept purposefully at the roadside of DN Road, just adjacent to the garden in a manner that those passing thru DN Road in Fort can get a clear view of the tram.
