Loved this place for breakfast. Though I felt quality is a bit hyped. ✔ Good taste of dosas. ✔ Chutney is good ? ➖ Though I felt that Plain Dosa could have been better considering the place is one of the most iconic places in old bangalore. ✔ Economical and has decent variety of south indian options in the menu. ✔ Small place with Comfortable seating but not easily available on crowded days. ✔ Quick service. ➖ Parking is a major issue here. Four wheelers should be parked on road somewhere nearby. ➖ Doesnt take card. ✔ Takes UPI

One of the icons of a Bangalore . Delighted to have visited again in 2021 Dec . Crispy masala dosas made with white “benne” ( butter). Polite service ( old style waiters ). Space will always be an issue if you go as a group of more than 4/6 people . They have done well to add more seating in another wing on the top floor ( which has its own kitchen , so you get the piping hot dosas there as well). Great coffee and vada as well ( I have never bothered trying any other items because I think it is sacrilege to do so !) . There will always be a debate on CTR vs Vidhyarthi Bhavan - to me this is the winner ! . Must visit for someone in Bangalore . Parking is always a challenge ( even more with a car ) - suggest parking about half a km from here on the residential side of Malleshwaram 6/8 cross . Get in early on a week day ( before 8:30) to enjoy a blissful and no crowd , no wait experience - otherwise prepare for 30/45 min wait ( depending on the number of people in your party ) .

Super sad food. We felt like puking after eating the butter masala dosa. The inner part of the dosa was still raw! They should've left it on the stove a little longer. Their chutney was spicy but honestly it was nothing to write home about. I understand that they were famous at some point and people still swear by them but I think they shouldn't take it for granted. Time to pull up their socks and ensure consistency in what they serve. ++All of this after waiting for over half an hour outside was really truly disappointing. This would be a hard no for me going forward.

Well, I was waiting from a long time to visit this restaurant and finally made it today. To begin with the pros. The ambience is like those old restaurants which were during the 90s and early 2000. Taste is awesome. One of the best rava idlies I had. Kurma is really good. Reasonable pricing. 350 rupees for 6 dishes Cons: They do not have sambar along with the dishes.? If you ordering butter masala dosa, kindly confirm if they add red masala in the dosa. Usually the butter masala dosa is without red chutney but only potato curry is available.

Very old and famous restaurant in Malleswaram. Great food & great taste. The all time favorite dish is "Benne (Butter) dose".This restaurant is so popular for it breakfast that people standing on line in early morning & evening, there is too much crowded on the weekends.Tea & Coffee are also good.Parking difficult because it's schetuted on corner of the main road.Take aways are also available here. They accepted cash, card & mobile payments.Good staff.Quick service. Overall best restaurant with perfect test.

I had lot of expectations from this place as it is considered one of the iconic food places. I even stood in line to get in as it was so busy. I must say staff is very efficient and helpful. We tried goli bajji which was very nice but the masala dosa was okay sort and the chutney lacked the punch. Filter coffee was amazing.

The Iconic Hotel Central Tiffin Room ( Shri Sagar) is located in the Heart of Bengaluru. I'm huge fan for their unique taste and Crispness of Masala Dose and Chutney is simply Mind blowing. Hotel is very spacious, can easily serve for 100+ people on one go. Very old kind of feel, feels like you haven't aged ( if you used to visit here earlier during young age) and everything is still under the way. They haven't altered much even today that's great. I used to have my Breakfast ( Masala Dose) here in 2019. And I've visited more than 200+ times in my entire Life. When I visited Vidyarthi Bhavan, I was expecting the taste like CTR style but ended up disappointed. Later I was used to Vidyarthi Bhavan. After long time I came back here and had my most loved Masala Dose in my life and really really disappointed guys. They've lost their taste in their main taste changer "The Chutney" . (They used to serve red chutney and Pudina Chutney earlier) It's taste very different now ( just like other hotels) Masala Dose used to be very Roasted and Crisped but now it's very different you can see in images. Thankfully Coffee tastes the same. I'm not exaggerating the scene, I have had enough Masala Dose and coffee here than most of them even had Masala Dose in their entire Life in hotels. I could really feel the difference, even if there was slight changes then I would have neglected coz I love this Hotel. But the scenario is completely different. The hotel Staff still remains the same, great and fast service ( same like Vidyarthi Bhavan) So overall, I was disappointed completely.(Personal opinion) not baised. Hoping they bring back their Master Recipe and Taste. And if you're a new and haven't tried their earlier Masala Dose, then you'll definitely fall in love just like me. They still serve the great Masala Dose than most of them in this Garden City. There will be like during Weekends, maximum waiting period is around 15min. (waiting period is not like Vidyarthi Bhavan) Prices are on high side now. That's not an issue as Time changes, Prices does.

Old. Famous. Great food. Great taste. Crowded on the weekends. 'Benne dose' is the most ordered dish. So you can guess, it's their best. Good staff. Quick service. Tea is good. Coffee as well. Parking difficult. If you are a group of 2 to 4 people visiting, it's fine. Together, more than that, might be difficult to accommodate. Take aways are also neatly packed. Clean. Healthy. Fresh. Breakfast and evening snack time, just perfect.
