Om Bramhalingeswaraya namaha. Wonderful temple. Don't miss it. Very old and ancient. Be careful of the sanctum tank. It's very very deep. Don't let your kids to peep or get down.

Really I was wondered after visiting this temple in Chebrolu . I felt very upset for not visiting this temple for these many days. Superb experience . This was constructed by " Vasi Reddy Venkatadhri Naidu " as a Compensation for killing one lakh robbers by telling lies and killed them. So he constructed this Brahma Temple and performed " Astadigbandanam " by constructing various temples around it . I request all of you to visit this temple. Marvelous experience. But the problem is visit before 9 Am because though the Darshan timings is upto 11 Am locals told that it is better to visit before 9 Am to have t Temples open.

It was a great place to know about our tradition and our ancient history. The place was too peaceful and calm and it was the one of the Brahma temple out of the two in the India. The road was too narrow to reach the temple, and don't worry vehicles will be reach to the temple entrance. A place must visit to know about our history.

This is one of the five major historic temples and monasteries in Chebrolu, quite possibly the most picturesque. It sits within the serene reflective waters of the temple tank, a symmetric square plan architecture from 7th to 8th century just feels harmonious as the light, sky and shadows play with the geometry. There is walkway across the temple tank to the sanctum platform (similar to the Golden temple in Amritsar). On a square open space sits a square mandapa on a thin pitha (platform). Twelve pillars form a covered mandapa that also works as pradakshinapatha (circumambulation passage). Right in the center of this is the square sanctum. The vimana and superstructure is Dravida style, yet the aedicules here on the walls of are Nagara (north Indian) style. The Gajalakshmi is delicately carved on the lalitabimba (lintel) of the sanctum doorway. The Shiva linga inside the sanctum has four faces (chaturmukha), with each face showing a seated yogi which is unusual. Also unusual is the yoni that is bowl-shaped (inverted kamala or lotus). The top of the linga too is a sophisticated masterpiece of artwork. Outside, you will see several Sanskrit inscriptions in Telugu script, which helps date and trace the history of this temple and Chebrolu as a Hindu pilgrimage site.
