★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible Merchant - They lead you to believe they are the government-run Central Cottage Industries, they are not, and do not officially support any government programs. Be careful! High Pressure, - Extremely Low Quality. Tourist scam - only hotel vans come here. You will pay museum quality price for junk. No certificate of authenticity (isn't that why we buy?), No returns, No warranties. They tell me they are on special watch and cannot service damaged and defective carpet shipments internationally.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were on the Seven Seas Voyager and had visited Apsara International; then our guide told us to visit CIE; exquisite collection of jewellery; we bought a Sapphire Necklace, Ring, Earrings and a Bracelet and spent almost $45,000; got a great deal from Ileyas; who was a gentleman and did not push us for the purchase; We had the items appraised back home and got a great value. I would highly recommend this shop

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not purchase from CIE. You are being scammed. We purchased a Ruby and Diamond Pendant from CIE in Mumbai (Shahid Bhagat Singh Rd, Colaba). It was supposed to be set in 18 ct yellow gold but was only 14 ct gold. We managed to negotiate a lower price when we purchased the pendant, so we only lost around 3-4 hundred dollars. But they key issue is that they lied and the guarantee certificate they provided is worth nothing. Do not shop there.
