The place had an authentic feel!! It looks exactly like it was 100 years ago ( a little older though ?) One less star because it has not much option for vegetarians. In veg - Irani paneer pulao was the only good option and it tasted very uniquely. I would only visit it once for experience but not go back ?

An out of the world Gastronomic experience an ardent foodie must try at Britannia. Quick service and Courteous staff adds value to this historical Irani Cafe in Ballard Pier. All dishes are delectable and one should definitely gorge on their Signature dish of Chicken Berry Pulao and wash it down with Ginger Ale and Raspberry. Kudos!!!

Overhyped place.. the mutton berry pulov was bland and the Salli boti had too much tomatoes.. however the caramel custard was the best the I've ever had. The food is overpriced for the quality that it serves. Poor hygiene and they only accept cash.. overall bad experience and I think people should stop overhyping this place.. there are many other good restaurants worthy of such popularity.

Irani Cafe Restaurant in Ballard Estate, Fort, Mumbai since 99 years. After Boman Irani his son Afsin managing the business. Icecreamsoda & Rasberry are signature soft drinks of this restaurant. It has the same old look for years now. First floor is closed now. This first floor was used in 1988 movie "Tezaab" scene. You can see Boman Irani sitting on the counter. You can order anything from Veg and Non-Veg food and its delicious. You will still find the old photos of Queen Victoria and King George on the walls of restaurant. You will also see flags of India, Britain and Iranian on the wall of this restaurant cafe. This is Mumbai's one of the oldest Irani restaurant.

It's true...the place has lost its sheen and charm it had one time. Main reasons may be the one i experienced were the cold hearted staff, exorbitant cost of the food and the only cash policy of the restaurant. But....but...the owner uncle is the one and only reason this restaurant is running. The connection he makes with the customer is special and that is the only reason this restaurant is still living. After our cold encounter with the waiter, i and my friend were about to leave...uncle jumped in and literally said 'Sit Down' twice ? remembered me of my grand father. He gave us what we request for which the waiter said No to.. We had veg Cutlet...and i really liked it...good quantity for two and the pallonji raspberry is soemwhat hype will not suit everyone's tastebuds..but i know there are diehard fans of it! Tip: carry cash atleast 3K if with family And...we ran out of cash ? had to go to ATM. Talk to Owner Uncle...he is the man! Lastly...when leaving, owner uncle called us and said THANKYOU!

Britannia & co has been named one of the legendary restaurants in Mumbai going back to British era in India. I think ever since nothing has been changed in terms of interior and service. In era of competitive restaurant good food good presentation this restaurant stays where it was a decade ago. Most overrated place in mumbai. I have been to other parsi cafes and had similar dishes so i could safely say I can judge the dishes right. Although the chicken cutlet was okish the berry pulao which is suppose to be theri signature dish turned as a horror story for us. It was tastless. That's all i could say. No complain in terms of quality of the products used but for the price being charged it feels thriftless. There Better options one can visit to try parsi food
