Awesome relaxing place to visit. Best time to go here is sunrise and sunset. Vehicles are not available frequently so make sure to rent a vehicle to reach and go back. The place has its own calmness in the sound of waves and moving ships. The best place is the midway road. You can also see locals are selling dried fishes and also drying the fishes outside there house. This is here's local business and occupation. Local people are very friendly and helping in nature. They also conduct trading of most valuable fishes.

Went there a few months ago... Absolute beauty if you love ? fish; you get used to the smell; and get to see a variety of marine fishes especially Sankar-mach or Sting-ray, marine eels, cat-fish,small sharks and lots of other fishes... There are small huts which actually serve you excellent breakfast with freshly cooked marine fishes... Be sure to get there early: at around 3 am in the morning to avoid crowds ? enjoy differently

You get a huge variety of fishes over here sold by local fishermen. The price is much less than the market range. The stalls are not very sturdy , and there is a strong smell prevelant. The market place becomes muddy if it rains. Its situated just beside the Digha Mohana which is a must visit place.

Digha mohona fish market established since time immemorial but given proper shape by the Digha Fishermen Society, established in 1973 and modernised by the father of Fisheries devt in West Bengal by Sri Kironmay Nanda, longest Fisheries Minister of the state and country since 1979 to 2011. He has started developing it into modern market and now this is being upgraded into EU compliance market, scheduled to be completed by 2022 but due to Covid delayed to 2024. Currently, I am here with the IGS team to study the potentially of using solar power here for complete illumination and other facilities under the Giz (Germany), MNRE,GoI and state NRES and Fisheries deptt project. Report to be submitted by end of March. I am also taking initiative from ensuring fish cuisine and ready to eat fish sellers in Digha to sale, maintaining proper hygiene. Once, completed, Digha and it's Fish Market would become one of most sought after tourist place in the country. Uptill now, DFFTA is niceky and efficiently managing the market, its business, proper fish handling etc in a very appreciable manner. Many thanks and gratitude to them on behalf of Fisheries fraternities of the state. Dr s n Biswas, Retired Joint Director of Fisheries, WB.
